Collection: ARGON AUDIO

Argon Audio is a Danish hi-fi brand that builds speakers, amplifiers and streamers for entry-level and solid mid-range systems. Founded more than 20 years ago as the house brand of the Danish chain HiFi Klubben, Argon has been an independent company under Nordic HiFi since 2019, with development and design still based in Denmark. That's where the price-to-performance ratio comes from: in-house development, short paths, little in between.

The Argon range at our store

  • Forus series (passive) – Forus 4 and Forus 5 as bookshelf speakers, Forus 55 as a floorstanding speaker, Forus 4 Wall and Forus 5 Wall as wall speakers, plus the Forus Center as a center speaker. That gives you a complete home cinema chain from a single series – same drivers, same signature, no stylistic breaks in the surround sound.
  • Fenris A4 and Fenris A5active speakers with built-in power amps and Bluetooth. They don't have Wi-Fi streaming; you connect the source directly.
  • Forte A5 WiFi and Forte A55 WiFi – active and networked: streaming is built in, no extra device needed.
  • Malmö Sub 8 and Malmö Sub 10 – active subwoofers for the foundation under music and film.
  • SA1 MK2 and SA2 – two amplifiers: the SA1 MK2 is a classic integrated amplifier, the SA2 brings streaming along with it.
  • Stream 2 MK3 and Stream 3 MK2streamers that make your existing system network-capable.
  • Stativ 62 and Stel 57 – matching speaker stands, so your bookshelf speakers sit at ear height instead of on the sideboard.

Honestly assessed

Argon is right if you want a lot of value for money and aren't after the very last ounce of resolution. If you expect audiophile fine detail, you're better served a class or two up – but Argon reliably delivers what it promises. The active WiFi models tie you to their app: convenient, but it is their app. Tell us how you listen to music, and we'll place you with the right model.

Frequently asked questions

Active or passive – which suits me?

Passive speakers need an amplifier, active ones don't. The Forus models are passive and work with any amplifier. Fenris and Forte have the power amps built in. If you already have an amplifier, go passive. If you want to start without extra devices, the active models are the shorter path.

Which Argon models can stream?

Over Wi-Fi: the Forte A5 WiFi, the Forte A55 WiFi, the SA2 amplifier, and the Stream 2 MK3 and Stream 3 MK2 streamers. The Fenris active speakers and the SA1 MK2 work without a network – there, the music comes via Bluetooth or a cable input.

Is Argon suitable as an entry into hi-fi?

Yes, that's exactly what the brand is made for: solid sound, uncomplicated operation, clean build quality. Because the Forus series covers bookshelf, wall, floorstanding and center, you can start small and later expand to multichannel without changing the tonal character. Upgrading is possible at any time – we'll tell you what makes sense.
