The Argon Audio Berlin Sub 12 is the big brother of the Sub 10: the same 500-watt Class D power amp (1200 W peak), but a 12-inch long-throw driver in a sealed cabinet for more depth in a more compact form factor. The wood finish with visible grain looks warm next to furniture rather than technical.

Why the Berlin Sub 12?

Thanks to the larger driver, the sealed MDF cabinet reaches down to 13 Hz – tangible, controlled deep bass rather than sheer level. Crossover frequency, a 3-band notch EQ and a subsonic filter can be set directly on the unit, and a display shows the current configuration. That way the Sub 12 adapts to the room and main speakers instead of overpowering them.

The Sub 12 has a 12-inch driver instead of a 10-inch one, in a sealed cabinet instead of a bass reflex one. As a result it reaches one hertz lower (13 instead of 14 Hz) and tends to sound more controlled in the bass. Both share the same amplifier, adjustment options and connections.
