• Platter mats – the cork mat Mat Two (296 mm) as an alternative to the standard felt mat.

What to choose by

Record care comes down to two questions: how often do you listen, and how clean are your records in the first place? For everyday dust, a good brush before every play is enough – it protects the groove and the stylus and costs less than a single stylus replacement. With mats, the material makes the difference: felt is the standard, cork damps differently and doesn't build up static charge. When switching, just watch the tonearm height if your arm isn't adjustable.

What does a goat-hair brush do?

It lifts dust out of the groove before the stylus presses it in – that protects the record and stylus and reduces crackle. Belongs in the basic kit of every collection.

Cork mat or felt mat?

Cork damps somewhat differently than felt and doesn't build up static – how noticeable the effect is depends on the turntable. Try it out, we'll advise you on it.

Is it worth it?

For little money, yes – care extends the life of both record and stylus. When it comes to sound tuning, we stay honestly realistic instead of promising you miracles.
