It accepts the signal via RCA or XLR and delivers 2× 140 W into 8 ohms or 2× 260 W into 4 ohms – enough headroom to drive the vast majority of High-End loudspeakers with authority and calm. Its contribution to the system is a stable, controlled and expressive reproduction.

What you hear

Control instead of showmanship: bass arrives taut and defined, the soundstage stays stable even at volume, nothing ever turns hard or strained. Together with the Mountain DAC and Mountain Pre, the result is a precise, dynamic and yet natural soundstage.

Who is the Mountain Power for?

For the top-tier chain with demanding loudspeakers. Plain talk: it's a pure power amp – nothing works without a preamp (ideally the Mountain Pre, otherwise any high-quality preamp via RCA/XLR). At 22 kg it's the heaviest unit in the line: plan for a sturdy rack, space and room to breathe. This isn't about the highest wattage on paper, but about control and naturalness – if you're running extremely low-impedance or inefficient speakers, it's best to talk to us about it beforehand.
