The Audio Analogue Pure AA100DM is an analogue stereo power amplifier in dual-mono construction, delivering 100 W into 8 Ω and bridgeable to a monoblock at 400 W. It runs in Class AB and gets by without global negative feedback.

In natural aluminium the chassis looks noticeably lighter than it is — 15.5 kg and a 760 VA transformer say otherwise. Developed and built in Tuscany, where understatement is apparently mastered in metal too.

Why the Pure AA100DM?

Behind the "DM" is Dual Mono: separate supply, separate amplification, three pairs of output transistors per channel. That yields 100 W at 8 Ω, 200 W at 4 Ω and a stable 320 W at 2 Ω — reserves that also cover speakers with a demanding impedance curve. Add an output impedance of 0.25 Ω, a signal-to-noise ratio above 110 dB and internal wiring of solid 7N-OCC copper.

What you hear

Calm and grip. The bass arrives dry and precise instead of mushy, and because the background stays so quiet, fine details from the recording emerge without turning the volume up. The absence of global negative feedback gives it an honest, unvarnished character: the AA100DM sounds like the recording, not like itself.

Who is the Pure AA100DM for?

Ideal for chains with a separate preamp and power amp, especially when two bridged monos are planned to follow later. Plainly put: this power amp has neither a volume control nor source selection, so it doesn't play on its own. Can the AA100DM play without a preamp?

No. As a pure power amp it has neither volume control nor source selection, so it absolutely needs a preamp or a source with a controlled output ahead of it. You can connect it unbalanced via RCA or balanced via XLR. We're happy to suggest a matching preamp.

How does dual mono differ from a normal stereo power amp?

The left and right channels have largely separate supplies and separate amplification stages. That means they barely influence each other, crosstalk drops, and the stereo centre stays stable even with complex music. On top of that, the AA100DM runs without global negative feedback.

How does mono operation work?

Two bridged units form a genuine monoblock pair delivering 400 W at 8 Ω or 700 W at 4 Ω. This requires the matching link kit. That way you can start small and double the power later without changing the preamp.

How warm does the AA100DM get in operation?

Noticeably warm, as is normal for Class AB, but not a concern. Leave some air above and behind it, and don't place other devices directly on top. The chassis measures 445 × 120 × 390 mm at 15.5 kg, and standby consumption is under one watt.
