Ortofon Concorde Stylus Music Red (Replacement Stylus)

The Ortofon Concorde Stylus Music Red is the original replacement stylus for the Concorde Music series – an elliptical diamond on an aluminium cantilever that fits any Concorde Music body.

Old stylus worn out? Clip on the new one and your Music sounds fresh again – without replacing the whole cartridge.

Why the Stylus Music Red?

The Music Red is the entry-level stylus of the series and the uncomplicated way to make your Concorde Music sound fresh again. The elliptical profile tracks the groove cleanly and delivers the open, lively tonal character the Music series is known for. Since all Music bodies use the same generator, you can clip the Red onto any model in the series.

What you hear

Fresh, clean sound without wear-induced distortion – a new stylus is the most effective maintenance a cartridge can get. Clear midrange, defined top end, and your records stay protected too: a worn stylus damages the groove, a fresh one doesn't.

Who is the Stylus Music Red for?

Ideal as a replacement for a worn Music Red stylus or as an affordable way back in. Plain talk: if you want more resolution, reach for the bare elliptical Blue or straight for the Shibata Black – both fit the same body. It doesn't fit the MKII DJ series, which has its own system.

Our verdict

The entry-level stylus of the Music series: uncomplicated replacement, honest sound, fair price. The fastest way to bring a tired Concorde Music back to singing form.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Stylus Music Red fit my Concorde?

It fits any Concorde Music body, from Red to Black LVB 250 – the generator and housing are identical across the whole series, only the diamond changes. It doesn't fit the MKII DJ series, which has its own stylus system.

Is the Stylus Music Red a complete stylus or just the diamond?

A complete stylus unit. With the Concorde system, the whole stylus unit with diamond and cantilever sits at the front of the body and clips on as a whole – no gluing in individual diamonds, no tools needed.

Can I upgrade from the Music Red to a better stylus?

Yes, and that's exactly the charm of the series: the same body also accepts the bare elliptical Blue, the Fine Line Bronze or the Shibata Black. You raise the sound quality through a pure stylus swap, without buying a new cartridge.

Why buy the Stylus Music Red at HD Zürisee?

Because we've compared the whole Music series side by side in Wädenswil and can tell you whether a replacement or straight to an upgrade makes more sense for you. You get the original from Ortofon and honest advice from Andy and Mauri – maintenance or an upgrade through a stylus swap.
