The Lavardin ITx is the purist flagship among the manufacturer's integrated amplifiers – a fully analogue unit with no phono input, no remote control from the factory, and no frills, built after more than twelve years of development work on the Memory-Free circuit.

Why the ITx?

With the ITx, Lavardin deliberately leaves out everything that could get in the way of a pure signal path: no tone controls, no tape monitor, no phono module. Four RCA inputs, one volume control, done. This reduction isn't a cost-cutting measure but the result of years of listening sessions by the developers – in their philosophy, every extra component in the signal path costs a piece of musicality. In the trade press, the ITx has regularly been regarded as the reference for "a cable with gain" since its introduction.

What you hear

With 2× 55 watts at 8 ohms (up to 2× 110 watts at 2 ohms), the ITx drives even more demanding speakers with authority, without ever sounding loud or aggressive. What stands out above all is the timing: rhythmically complex music stays comprehensible down to the last detail, without the amplifier sounding "hard" or analytical. The bass is dry and controlled, without being pushed to the fore.

Who is the ITx for? (and who isn't it for)

For music lovers who want an uncompromising, purely analogue signal path and already have their own separate sources (streamer, DAC, CD player). Plain talk: without a phono input and without a remote control from the factory, the ITx isn't for anyone looking for an all-in-one solution – Lavardin offers more convenient models like the ISx for that.

Our verdict

The ITx is an amplifier for people who know what they don't want: compromises in the signal path. If you're prepared to do without convenience features, you get one of the most honest presentations we know in this price class in return.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Lavardin ITx have a phono input?

No, the ITx is designed as a pure line-level device and deliberately built without a phono stage. If you want to play vinyl, you need an external phono preamp ahead of one of the four RCA inputs – that way the ITx's short, uncompromising signal path stays intact.

Is there a remote control for the ITx?

Not from the factory – the ITx is operated manually on the unit. This is a deliberate choice to keep the signal path as short as possible and avoid every extra component. If you need convenience features like a remote control, the ISx is the better choice.

How much power does the ITx really deliver into difficult speakers?

2× 55 watts at 8 ohms and up to 2× 110 watts at 2 ohms show that the ITx stays stable even as impedance drops. In practice this is enough for the vast majority of high-quality floorstanding and bookshelf speakers.

Why buy the Lavardin ITx at HD Zürisee?

The ITx isn't a device you order unheard – we'll advise you on which sources and speakers really suit this purist amplifier. Call us, message us or drop by, we'll take the time for your system.

Goes well with

Full-grown floorstanding speakers and a high-quality preamp upstream suit the ITx well, provided you're using digital sources with their own volume control.
