Passive coaxial floorstanding speaker with 12-inch driver

The Vestlyd V12C brings concert-level output into the living room: a 12-inch woofer with ferrite motor carries a 1-inch titanium compression tweeter right in the centre of the voice coil – a coaxial design otherwise used mainly in PA and studio monitors. The benefit: time-coherent sound from a single sound source and a very wide listening zone that needs no toe-in.

Built for high levels

With 93 dB sensitivity and a recommended amplifier power of up to 500 watts, the V12C doesn't run out of breath at higher volumes either – two front-firing bass reflex ports provide controlled depth without a separate subwoofer.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a special amplifier for the V12C?

Not special, but it should be powerful: the V12C is rated for 4 Ω and handles up to 500 watts. Thanks to 93 dB sensitivity, much smaller amplifiers are already enough for living-room volume – for full dynamics, more is welcome.

Do I need to toe in the V12C?

No. The coaxial design creates a very wide listening zone – the speakers can face straight ahead and still sound balanced across a wide area of the room.

What's the difference to the V15C?

The V15C uses a 15-inch instead of a 12-inch woofer and therefore reaches deeper into the bass (36 instead of 39 Hz) with slightly higher sensitivity. The V12C is enough for smaller to medium rooms, the V15C is worthwhile in large rooms or for maximum depth.
