What you hear

Full, lively sound with a surprisingly deep foundation. The high-performance subwoofer in a flow-optimised bass-reflex housing delivers punch, and the latest-generation DSP keeps the sound clean even at higher volumes. The coaxial driver arrangement (2 × 0.75″ tweeters, 2 × 3″ midrange drivers) plus a 5.25″ woofer produces a mature sound rather than a boombox blast. Preset equalizers and an automatically dimming display round off everyday use.

Who is the Primus right for?

For anyone who wants a single, good-looking box for the living room, bedroom or home office – with streaming, radio and good sound without cable clutter. Plain talk: if you're after classic stereo with a wide soundstage from two separately placed speakers, this isn't it – the Primus is a compact system, not a stereo pair. And if you stream exclusively via Qobuz or Tidal, you should know: the current generation relies on Spotify Connect, Amazon Music and Deezer; Qobuz, Tidal and Napster only ran on the older SO-410 models. On the plus side, the Primus also plays entirely without a subscription – DAB+, FM and internet radio don't cost a cent extra.

How big can the room be?
The Primus is designed for rooms up to around 25 m². Thanks to the 2.1 system with a 5.25″ subwoofer, it effortlessly fills living rooms, bedrooms or home offices with full sound. In very large, open-plan spaces every compact system eventually reaches its limits – in that case we're happy to advise you on alternatives.

Do I need a paid subscription?
No. The Primus plays DAB+, FM and over 25,000 internet radio stations completely subscription-free. Streaming services like Spotify Connect, Amazon Music or Deezer are an option, not a requirement. Bluetooth and the inputs (aux, RCA, optical) also work at no ongoing cost.

Does the Primus support Qobuz or Tidal?
The current generation streams via Spotify Connect, Amazon Music and Deezer, plus Bluetooth. Qobuz, Tidal and Napster only ran on the older SO-410 versions. You can still feed Qobuz content in at any time via Bluetooth or the aux/RCA input.

Is this a stereo speaker pair?
No, the Primus is a compact 2.1 system in a single housing, not a separately placed stereo pair. In return you get real subwoofer bass, four drivers and plenty of sources in one box – ideal when space and looks matter.
