Sonorous Elements EX31-PF TV Lowboard, White Etched Glass

The Sonorous Elements EX31-PF is a wide home cinema lowboard whose perforated etched-glass front lets the sound of hidden speakers through while the speakers themselves stay invisible.

The "PF" stands for perforation: the white glass front is covered in countless precise micro-holes – essentially an extremely high-quality speaker grille made of glass.

Why the Elements EX31-PF?

It solves the classic dilemma of "good sound versus tidy looks". Sound waves glide through the perforation almost unhindered, so you hide your speakers inside the furniture without losing audible sound quality. The matte etched glass – acid-treated glass with a silky surface – swallows reflections from the TV and lamps and barely shows fingerprints on top of that.

Add to that everything proven from the Elements series: infrared transparency (devices stay controllable with the door closed), soft-close damping and cable management in the back panel. Ventilation openings keep the air moving so your gear doesn't overheat.

What you get

Plenty of room for demanding home cinema components and a strong presence in the room: over 1600 mm of width and an extra-deep body fit even bulky AV receivers. The contrast of black body and white etched-glass front structures the room and looks professional rather than playful.

Who is the EX31-PF for?

For anyone looking for a true home cinema centerpiece that reconciles technology and design – and who'd rather hear their speakers than see them. Straight talk: the EX31 is a big piece. In a tiny room it overwhelms the space more than it decorates it. If you're fitting a very deep power amp, leave 20–30 mm of air on top for circulation – that's really the only thing to keep in mind.

Our verdict

One of the most honest pieces of furniture for anyone who takes home cinema seriously: plenty of storage, sonically unobtrusive in the best sense, visually an anchor. If you have the space, there's hardly a more elegant solution.

Frequently asked questions

Do I lose sound quality because of the glass?
Barely. The perforation is designed so that damping in the audible range stays minimal. If you place the speakers close to the front, you won't notice any relevant difference from an open setup in everyday use.

What's the best way to clean the etched glass?
With a soft cloth and some standard glass cleaner. The matte texture is more resistant to smudges than clear glass. Avoid abrasive sponges so the silky surface stays even.

Will my large AV receiver fit inside?
Usually, yes. The EX31 is deliberately built deep and takes even bulky units. Leave about 20–30 mm of air on top for ventilation – for unusual dimensions, send us the measurements and we'll check.
