Zu welchen Geräten passt der Ruark RS1?

Der RS1 ist für Ruarks kompakte Systeme gemacht – MR1, R3S und R410. Er funktioniert aber an jedem Aktivlautsprecher oder Verstärker mit einem Mono-Cinch-Subwoofer- oder Pre-Out-Ausgang. Angeschlossen wird er mit dem beiliegenden 1,5-m-Cinch-Kabel.

Wie tief spielt der RS1?

Der RS1 reicht hinunter bis 25 Hz. Ein 170-mm-Langhub-Treiber und ein 170-mm-Passivradiator sorgen für sauberen, musikalischen Tiefgang – kontrolliert statt dröhnend. Die 100-Watt-Class-D-Endstufe hält den Bass bei jeder Lautstärke im Griff.

Ist der RS1 ein Heimkino-Subwoofer?

Der RS1 ist in erster Linie ein Musik-Subwoofer für kompakte Systeme. Er gibt Filmen durchaus Fundament, ist aber nicht auf maximalen Heimkino-Pegel in grossen Räumen ausgelegt. Für reines Heimkino-Beben empfehlen wir dir einen grösseren Sub – beraten wir gern.

The Ruark Audio RS1 is an active subwoofer from the 100 Series that adds deep, controlled bass to compact Ruark systems such as MR1, R3S and R410.

The MR1 sounds great – but sometimes you just want more foundation down low. That's exactly why Ruark built the RS1: a small, beautifully made active subwoofer that doesn't need to hide behind the sofa, but thanks to its fabric grille and real-wood caps is happy to sit in plain sight next to your speakers.

Why the RS1?

The RS1 is deliberately not a home-cinema slammer, but a music subwoofer. A 170 mm long-throw driver works together with a 170 mm passive radiator in a tuned cabinet – giving clean, articulate low end down to 25 Hz without ever getting boomy. A 100-watt Class D amplifier keeps the driver firmly under control at any volume; a built-in soft-clipping circuit protects against overload.

Set-up takes minutes: an adjustable crossover frequency (50–180 Hz), a level control and a 180° phase switch let you dial it in cleanly to your speakers. Thanks to auto on/standby, the RS1 switches itself on with a signal and back to sleep after 15 minutes of silence.

Deep bass with style and no fuss: the RS1 connects via mono RCA to the subwoofer output of your Ruark system – a 1.5 m cable is included. The Lead Grey fabric grille with hand-finished wood panels blends into the living room instead of standing out.

Plain talk: the RS1 needs a subwoofer or pre-out output (mono RCA). It's a perfect match for MR1, R3S and R410, but also works with any other active speaker or amplifier with a sub-out. If you're after maximum home-cinema rumble for large rooms, a bigger sub will serve you better – the RS1 plays for musicality, not for noise.

Who is the RS1 for?

Ideal for owners of a Ruark MR1, R3S or R410 who want to give their compact system more depth and body – on the desk, on a shelf or in the living room. Also an elegant bass companion for other small active or compact systems with a sub output.

Who it's not for: for large floorstanding speakers in big rooms or uncompromising home-cinema low end, the RS1 is too petite – a bigger subwoofer is the better choice there.
