The Rega Planar 2 Nd3 is a manual belt-drive turntable with a handcrafted RB220 tonearm and a factory-fitted Rega Nd3 cartridge. Technically the same foundation as the Planar 2, but refined: an elliptical diamond instead of a spherical stylus, a warm walnut finish and a tinted smoked dust cover. Ready to play straight out of the box – set it up, and you're listening, with a higher-quality cartridge from the very first groove.

Why the Planar 2 Nd3?

The foundation stays serious: a handcrafted RB220 tonearm with low-friction precision bearings, a polished 10mm Optiwhite glass platter, an 11mm brass bearing and a quiet 24V motor. The difference lies in the Nd3 cartridge with its neodymium magnet and elliptical diamond stylus, which pulls noticeably more fine detail out of the grooves than the spherical-stylus Carbon. Combined with the walnut finish and tinted cover, this adds up to a coherent overall package – sonically and visually.
