The MOON 461 is an analogue stereo power amplifier from the Compass Collection that amplifies your preamp's signal with 150 watts per channel and true dual-mono architecture – stable down to low-impedance speaker loads.

Why the MOON 461?

At its core works MOON's proprietary MDCA architecture (MOON Distortion-Cancelling Amplifier), originally developed for the flagship North Collection. It significantly reduces distortion and keeps the signal linear – the result is a natural, transparent reproduction with plenty of dynamics. Two separate MHP power supplies (MOON Hybrid Power), one per channel, make the 461 a true dual-mono construction: better channel separation, less crosstalk and confident power delivery even into demanding loads.

MOON deliberately does without global negative feedback and relies on exclusively manufactured transistors – that's the basis of the well-known MOON sound signature. An operating-mode switch selects between stereo, mono-bridge (up to 450 watts at 8 ohms) and bi-amping, so the 461 grows with your speaker configuration.

What you hear

First of all, silence: no background noise, no audible strain – and that's exactly what lets the music grow.
