We. SEE 42 oled dc OLED TV, Coal Black

The We. SEE 42 oled dc is a 42-inch OLED TV that packs Ultra HD picture, Dolby Atmos, and a clever dual tuner into an extra-flat monitor-style cabinet.

The name says it all: "dc" stands for Dual Channel, and that's exactly the trick behind this device. While you're watching one programme, the twin triple tuner records another in the background – with no external box, no fiddling. On top of that comes an OLED panel with true black, Dolby Vision, and 60 watts of invisibly built-in sound power. For a device in its price range, the We. SEE performs quite confidently.

Why the We. SEE 42 oled dc?

Because it combines OLED picture quality with a well thought-out concept for a small living room or bedroom, without you having to spend a fortune. The slim monitor-style design with rotating metal stand also looks good on a sideboard, and thanks to Apple AirPlay, Miracast, and the key streaming apps built in from the factory, you don't need an extra device to get films, shows, or music onto the screen.

What you'll hear / get / experience

Picture: rich OLED black, Ultra HD sharpness, and Dolby Vision for contrasts that show detail even in dark scenes. Sound: 60 watts through invisibly built-in speakers with Dolby Atmos support – not a sound to fall in love with, but solid enough that you won't need a soundbar for everyday use (if you want more, upgrade with the We. BOOST). Controls: Vidaa interface with voice control via Vidaa Voice or Alexa Skills, plus the We. REMOTE with direct access to your streaming services.

Who's the We. SEE 42 oled dc for? (and who isn't it for)

Straight talk: if you want to equip a second or third room with a genuine OLED without spending four figures, you're spot on here. It's also an honest pitch for anyone who wants dual-channel recording without extra devices. If, on the other hand, you're planning a home cinema with 65 inches or more, or want to squeeze the last bit of sound out of the TV itself, you're better off looking at the larger Loewe series or pairing it with a soundbar right away – 60 watts from flat, invisible drivers remains a compromise, not cinema sound.

Our verdict

A slim, honest OLED package with a pinch of individuality – the dual-channel tuner is a nice trick you don't find everywhere. If you're after 42 inches and want OLED, you get a well-rounded overall package here with no major weaknesses.
