Sonox X150 Floorstanding Speaker, Light Grey (Pair)

The Sonox X150 is the large, 153 cm tall sound column of the X Series with four subwoofer drivers and a sealed Acoustic Suspension enclosure that reaches down to 26 Hz.

Developed by the Swiss manufacturer ROWEN, it's the fabric-wrapped flagship of the series – the titanium-coloured "X" metal foot elegantly lifts the slim column off the floor.

Why the Sonox X150?

Four woofers in the sealed subwoofer system deliver particularly deep, powerful and precise bass at the same time – without the bass-reflex boom that otherwise complicates free placement. That's why you can put the column in a corner, next to a cabinet, or in front of a window front. Up top, the 18mm ROWEN fabric dome resolves fine detail from 4,300 Hz, while below, an ultra-fast, wide-bandwidth bass/mid system delivers excellent spatial imaging. At 6 Ω and 89 dB, the X150 remains easy to drive.

What you hear

A large, wide soundstage, clear voices, natural timbre and commanding deep bass down to 26 Hz – the slim column plays with the authority of a considerably larger speaker. You customise the metal plate set into the fabric up top via the included aluminium covers in silver or bronze. The light grey finish blends especially discreetly into modern, bright living rooms.

Who is the Sonox X150 for?

For medium to larger living rooms where lifestyle looks and full-grown deep bass are meant to come together. Straight talk: the X150 is a passive speaker, so you'll need an amplifier. At 153 cm tall, it makes a statement – in a very small room it quickly looks oversized; there, the X100 is the better fit.

Do I need an amplifier for the Sonox X150?
Yes. The X150 is a passive floorstanding speaker and needs an integrated or streaming amplifier. At 6 Ω and 89 dB it's easy to drive, though it benefits from some power headroom in larger rooms. We're happy to work out the right combination with you.

How does the X150 differ from the X100?
At 153 cm, the X150 is taller, has four woofers instead of two, and reaches deeper in the bass (26 Hz vs. 29 Hz). It plays with more command in larger rooms, while the more compact X100 feels more at home in smaller rooms.
