The Focal Aria EVO X N°4 is the largest 3-way bass-reflex floorstanding speaker in the French Aria EVO X series. Supplied as a pair.

Two large 21 cm Flax woofers, a 16.5 cm Flax midrange driver and the inverted TAM tweeter deliver level, depth and authority for large rooms.

Why the Focal Aria EVO X N°4?

Because the two 21 cm woofers move enough cone area to generate tangible, physical bass — down to 31 Hz (-6 dB). The Flax cones made of French flax stay natural and defined throughout, while the TAM tweeter with waveguide delivers refined highs across a wide listening area. The aluminium plinth and the rigid MDF cabinet keep the energy in the speaker instead of the floor.

Who's the Aria EVO X N°4 for — and who isn't it for?

Straight talk: the N°4 is built for large living rooms. In a small room (around 15 m²) the bass will overwhelm you — the N°2 or N°3 are the better choice there. And with a minimum impedance of 2.5 Ω it needs a powerful, stable amplifier; on weak units its dynamics get left on the table.

Does the N°4 need a subwoofer in stereo use?

For music, usually not — it delivers enough depth on its own. For home cinema with infrasonic effects, a subwoofer (e.g. Focal SUB 1000F) fills in that last bit.

What room size suits the N°4?

Large living rooms. In small rooms the bass dominates; the N°2 or N°3 are more suitable there. A bit of wall distance and slight toe-in bring out the best.

What amplifier suits the N°4?
