The AVM Audition CB 2.3 Bronze Edition is a compact 2-way bass-reflex bookshelf speaker with a 160 mm woofer and a fabric dome tweeter – here in the anniversary version for AVM's 40th year, with a bronze front and a black high-gloss cabinet.

AVM is known for electronics from Malsch, but with the CB 2.3 the manufactory proves it can build speakers too. AVM issues the Bronze Edition in limited numbers and for a short time only – a counterpart to the AS and CS 2.3 in bronze that stands out on a shelf without shouting.

Why the AVM Audition CB 2.3 Bronze Edition?

Because this small speaker gets a lot right: the cabinet made of ultra-high-density fibre material damps unwanted vibrations and resonances, and the 220 × 330 mm front wraps around the body and doubles as the front standing edge. At the back sits a sturdy, height-adjustable third foot: with the built-in tilt mechanism you angle the speaker slightly backwards and aim the sound at ear height – for example from a lowboard or below listening height.

Who is the Audition CB 2.3 Bronze Edition suited for?

Straight talk: for anyone who wants powerful, full sound in a medium-sized living space without the speakers dominating the room – and who would rather wear bronze up front than hide it. AVM deliberately developed the CB 2.3 for such rooms. If you want to fill a very large room or feel real deep bass below 37 Hz, you're better served by a floorstander or an additional subwoofer. And because the port sits at the back, the CB 2.3 needs a few centimetres of air to the wall.
