Why is the PST450 smaller than other record weights?

Because stainless steel is considerably denser than aluminium. At 55 millimetres in diameter and 30 millimetres in height, the PST450 packs more mass into less space. That has two advantages: the force acts concentrated over the platter bearing, and there's more clearance under flat dust covers.

Do the cylinders rattle during use?

Does the PST450 have a built-in spirit level?
