The Canton Vento 21 is the smallest 2-way bookshelf speaker in the Vento series 2026 and, at just 36 centimetres tall, brings along the tweeter technology of the series' larger models.
In high-gloss black it's the classic variant: a deep black finish, a narrow baffle, a magnetically attached fabric cover. On the front sits a 25 mm dome made of Black Ceramic behind the square Transmission Front Plate, and below it a 154 mm mid-woofer with an ATB membrane. The bass-reflex port faces the rear, built in Weilrod, Hesse.
Why the Canton Vento 21?
Because not every room calls for more speaker. The 21 is designed for rooms where a floorstander would simply be too much: home offices, bedrooms, compact living spaces, second systems. It shares the tweeter and the design principle with the larger Vento models, so it's not a stripped-down entry product but a deliberately smaller variant. Anyone who needs more bass extension and headroom finds it one step up with the Vento 31.
What you hear
A surprisingly cohesive, fast reproduction with clear imaging. The 154 mm driver keeps the bass tight rather than bloating it, so voices and instruments sit precisely in the room. In the near field over short distances this is a real advantage. From 32 Hz upward it delivers more foundation than you'd expect from a speaker this size, but it does need a bit of wall clearance for that.
Who is the Canton Vento 21 for?
Plain talk: for small rooms, tight footprints, near-field placement, and surround positions in a Vento home cinema. It's not suited as the main speaker in large rooms or where consistently high levels are required. Push it that way anyway and it won't be damaged, but you won't get the best out of it either. In that case, the Vento 31, a floorstander, or a subwoofer gets you there faster.
Our verdict
Small, but not shy. The Vento 21 won't win any competition in the deep bass, and it isn't trying to, but it plays clean, fast, and pleasantly effortless. On a stand with a bit of air behind it, it sounds more grown-up than its size suggests. The team at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil will tell you honestly beforehand whether your room will be happy with the 21, or whether the larger 31 is the clearer answer.

Frequently asked questions
How big and how heavy is the Canton Vento 21?
It measures 19 centimetres wide, 36 tall, and 30 deep, and weighs 6.2 kilograms per speaker. That fits on most sideboards and shelves. On a stand it noticeably gains in openness, because the speaker can breathe freely.
Vento 21 or Vento 31 — which suits my room?
Rule of thumb: up to about 20 square metres, the 21; above that, the 31. The 31 has the larger driver, reaches down to 27 instead of 32 Hz, and handles more power. The 21 is more compact and more precise in the near field. Describe your room to us and we'll help you place it.
Is the Vento 21 suited as a surround speaker?
Yes, that's one of its strongest roles. In a Vento home cinema it takes on the rear or side channels and matches tonally exactly with the series' front models. Combined with a center speaker, a subwoofer, and Atmos modules, it forms a consistently matched set.
Does the Vento 21 work at short listening distances too?
Very well, in fact. The tightly coupled transition between the 154 mm driver and the tweeter means the reproduction already feels cohesive at two metres. Place the speakers with a slight toe-in, bring the tweeter to ear height, and leave a bit of space behind the cabinet for the bass-reflex port.
Why buy the Canton Vento 21 at HD Zürisee?
Because small speakers in particular live and die by placement and amplifier choice, and that rarely shows up on a spec sheet. We know the Canton series, put together the right combination for you, deliver to the Lake Zurich area, and set everything up on request. Just get in touch before you order.
Goes well with
A speaker stand brings the small speaker to ear height, an amplifier with some headroom gives it control. Add speaker cable of the right length and, if you want more down low, a subwoofer. The bigger sibling is found among the bookshelf speakers.
