Bassocontinuo Aeon X Carbon Audio Rack

The Bassocontinuo Aeon X is a modular HiFi rack made of carbon fibre, featuring a globally unique monocoque frame.

The Aeon X is considered Bassocontinuo's true masterpiece: the frame is made using the same lamination technology used for safety cells in Formula 1 – thin-walled, extremely rigid and practically resonance-free. The three tiers rest on a solid structure of stainless steel or, optionally, copper, decoupled by viscoelastic materials that keep vibrations away from the electronics rather than simply damping them. Available are the sporty Racing Black finish and, as a 15th-anniversary edition, the Le Mans finish with hand-stitched genuine leather covering. According to the manufacturer, the Aeon X was awarded "Equipment Support 2025" by Hi-Fi+ and "Best Of 2022" by Mono&Stereo – manufacturer claims not independently verified by us, which we nonetheless pass on gladly because they match the visible build quality.

Who is the Aeon X suited for?

The Aeon X is intended for listeners who want to house a multi-stage system (preamp, power amp, sources) on a single, extremely rigid rack and are prepared to invest accordingly in construction and materials. Anyone who just wants to cleanly decouple a single component is better served by the more compact Eos X or the more affordable Aeon Light.

Our verdict

The Aeon X isn't a piece of furniture you buy on a whim – but anyone who has once held the construction in their hands understands the premium over classic racks. The combination of a carbon monocoque and carefully thought-out decoupling makes it one of the most uncompromising rack solutions we carry at HD Zürisee.

Frequently asked questions

What makes the Aeon X technically so special?
The frame consists of a carbon monocoque, laminated using the same technology as safety cells in motorsport. This results in an extremely rigid, practically resonance-free structure – noticeably stiffer against torsion than classic rack constructions made of wood or metal tubing.

What finishes and structures are available?
You can choose between the Racing Black and Le Mans finishes, each combinable with a structure in stainless steel (Silver or Lead+Bronze) or copper on request. Module height is freely selectable between the floor module and 100 to 350 mm.

What is the Le Mans finish?
Le Mans is the anniversary edition marking Bassocontinuo's 15th anniversary, recognisable by its hand-stitched genuine leather covering. It costs a premium over Racing Black, but offers the same carbon monocoque technology underneath.

Can I expand the Aeon X modularly?
Yes, the Aeon X is built modularly – individual height modules can be combined and added later if needed. This way the rack grows with your system instead of limiting it.
