The Atoll SDA300 Signature is a streaming integrated amplifier that combines a network player, a D/A converter, and a 2×150-watt power stage in one chassis.
All-in-one designs have a reputation for being a bit of a compromise everywhere. The SDA300 Signature is the counter-argument: 19 kilograms, two toroidal transformers, a feedback-free Class A preamp stage — this is a full-grown amplifier that happens to have a very good streamer built in, not the other way round.
Why the SDA300 Signature?
Because it halves the cable clutter without skimping on the power supply. Two 340 VA toroidal transformers and 65,800 µF of smoothing capacitance feed a MOS-FET power stage in double push-pull; the preamp stage is built discretely and runs in pure Class A without feedback. Conversion is handled by a Burr-Brown PCM1792 up to 24-bit / 192 kHz including DSD. And because Atoll keeps updating the digital section, AirPlay 2 simply arrived via a firmware update in August 2025.
What you get
A complete system minus speakers. Qobuz, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Deezer, HighResAudio, around 100,000 internet radio stations, Roon Ready, plus four S/PDIF inputs for a TV and CD transport, two USB-A ports for sticks and hard drives, and two analog line inputs. Everything is controlled via a 5-inch colour display, the ATOLL Signature 2 app, or the remote control. A pre-out is there in case a subwoofer joins later.
Who is the SDA300 Signature for?
For anyone who wants a serious system without a rack full of boxes. And for anyone with demanding speakers — there's plenty of power on tap here. Plain talk: there's no phono input, and it doesn't accept option cards either; for vinyl you'll need an external phono stage. If you want to upgrade your system piece by piece down the line, separate components give you more flexibility. And if you only listen to the radio occasionally, this is clearly more than you need.
Our verdict
Anyone who claims all-in-one always sounds like a compromise simply hasn't heard the SDA300 Signature yet. The British magazine The Ear named it an Editor's Choice on 20 December 2023, calling it "a superbly engineered, well built (in France) streaming amplifier which sets a benchmark." Michael Lavorgna wrote on Twittering Machines on 5 December 2024: "I don't know of another streaming integrated amplifier anywhere near its price I can recommend with more enthusiasm or confidence." Frequently asked questions
How much power does the Atoll SDA300 Signature have?
2×150 watts at 8 ohms and 2×280 watts at 4 ohms. Behind that are two 340 VA toroidal transformers and 65,800 µF of smoothing capacitance. That lets it drive low-efficiency or impedance-critical speakers too, where smaller all-in-one units run out of breath early.
Is the Atoll SDA300 Signature Roon Ready?
Yes, officially certified. It also offers AirPlay 2, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Qobuz, Deezer, HighResAudio, around 100,000 internet radio stations, and UPnP/DLNA. It's controlled via the ATOLL Signature 2 app, the 5-inch display, or the included remote control.
Can I connect a turntable to the SDA300 Signature?
Not directly. The SDA300 Signature has two line inputs but no phono input, and it doesn't accept a phono option card either. So you'll need an external phono preamp — for example the Atoll PH100 or PH200 — connected to one of the line inputs.
Does the SDA300 Signature have a headphone output?
Yes, there's a 6.35 mm jack on the front. That lets you listen without speakers too, for instance late at night. For very high-impedance studio headphones, a dedicated headphone amplifier is still worth it — we'll tell you if yours qualifies.
Why buy the Atoll SDA300 Signature at HD Zürisee?
Because an all-in-one is only as good as the speakers in front of it and the network behind it. We'll tell you honestly which speakers suit its 150 watts, set it up at your place, and take care of installation and service with our own technician.
Pairs well with
It wants speakers that can actually use its power: floorstanding speakers or larger bookshelf speakers. For vinyl you'll need a phono preamp, plus the right cables.
