The Argon Audio TT3 Plus builds on the TT3 and upgrades exactly where it matters most sonically: a carbon tonearm instead of aluminium, a higher-quality Ortofon 2M Red, and a built-in, switchable phono preamplifier. The walnut veneer brings visible wood grain to the shelf.

Why the TT3 Plus?

The carbon/aluminium tonearm is stiffer and lighter than pure aluminium – this reduces resonances and benefits detail resolution. Argon's patent-pending ATS technology (Anisotropic Torsion Stabilizer) further ensures a calmer, more stable run. The built-in phono preamplifier makes an external one unnecessary, but can also be switched off if needed.

Is this the ash finish from the price list?

The manufacturer currently officially lists the TT3 Plus in Black, White and Walnut – an ash variant could not be found at the time of listing. We therefore deliberately set up this wood finish as Walnut rather than Ash; feel free to get in touch if you can confirm a genuine ash finish exists.

What does the carbon tonearm offer over aluminium?

Carbon is stiffer at a lower weight, so the arm itself resonates less and colours the signal less. Combined with the ATS damping, that's the main difference from the simpler TT3.
