Why the LG OLED77G57LW?

Because self-emitting OLED pixels deliver black that doesn't look grey, but is simply absent. What you see and hear

A high-contrast 4K picture with Dolby Vision, HDR10 Pro and HLG – bright, true to colour and without the typical OLED compromises in dark scenes. For sound, the 4.2 system with 60 watts and Dolby Atmos plays a virtual 11.1.2 surround sound via AI Sound Pro, which has decent substance for a TV but understandably can't match a real home cinema setup.

Who is the LG OLED77G57LW suited for – and who isn't it for?

Straight talk: For anyone who wants a big, wall-flush cinema picture and is flexible about the model year – technically the G5 loses barely anything compared to the current G6 in everyday living-room use, but costs significantly less. Not ideal if sound without a soundbar matters to you (bass stays modest, as with any flat OLED) or if you absolutely want the newest model year in the box. And: it's a single unit – once it's gone, there's no restock at this price.

Buying a discontinued model here doesn't mean making compromises – it means getting a mature, top-tier panel at a preferential price.
