The Valvet I4 is a Class A integrated amplifier that combines two complete power amps and a passive preamp in a single chassis.

In essence, the I4 has two Valvet A4.5 mono power amps inside it – except they share one chassis, one 500 VA toroidal transformer, and one power cable. The preamp stage ahead of them is deliberately passive: no extra amplifier stage in the signal path, just a 64-position stepped attenuator that adjusts volume in fine increments. Why the Valvet I4?
