AVM Inspiration AS 2.3 Streaming Integrated Amplifier, Bronze Edition

The AVM Inspiration AS 2.3 Bronze Edition is a compact streaming integrated amplifier that combines a network player, D/A converter, MM/MC phono stage and a 2 × 140 watt power amplifier in a midi-size chassis – here in the special edition for AVM's 40th company anniversary, with a bronze front and black case.

In 2026 AVM celebrates forty years of handcrafting in Malsch and has given the AS 2.3 a new face for the occasion: warm bronze at the front, black body behind it. The technology is the proven AS 2.3, but AVM is making the Bronze Edition only in limited numbers and for a short time – so if you like it, don't wait until Christmas.

Why the AVM Inspiration AS 2.3 Bronze Edition?

Because you get the complete AS 2.3 package – just with an anniversary front. 2 × 140 watts into 4 ohms won't be rattled by any serious speaker, the ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M converter works cleanly, and the AVM X-STREAM Engine streams up to DSD256 and 384 kHz/32 bit. It's operated via the free RC X app; a hardware remote is not in the box.

What you get

Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, AirPlay 2, Roon Ready, Bluetooth and internet radio are on board – and if you don't want a subscription, you can play web radio, vinyl or files from your home network. The phono stage switches between MM (40 dB) and MC (60 dB), TV sound comes along via HDMI ARC, and the headphone output sits on the front.

Who is the Bronze Edition suited for – and who isn't it?

Straight talk: for anyone who wants the AS 2.3 anyway and likes a front that stands out from the usual black-and-silver. If you prefer something discreet, take the standard black or silver version – same technology, no collector status. A CD drive is deliberately absent; for that there is the CS 2.3 Bronze. And for very large rooms with hard-to-drive floorstanders, it's worth looking one AVM class higher.

Our verdict

The AS 2.3 is one of those compact units where you forget how small it is while listening – the Bronze Edition simply gives it a face with anniversary character. We'll gladly work out with you, calmly, at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, which speakers suit it.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Bronze Edition differ from the regular AS 2.3?

Only in looks: for AVM's 40th anniversary the front wears a warm bronze, while the case stays black. Power, converter, streaming and connections match the standard AS 2.3. AVM makes the Bronze Edition in limited numbers and only for a limited time.

Does the AS 2.3 Bronze Edition have a CD drive?

No, the AS 2.3 is deliberately built without a drive. If you want to insert CDs directly, choose the CS 2.3 in the same bronze finish with its slot-in drive, or connect a CD player to one of the digital inputs. The amplifier and streaming sections are identical in both.

Can I connect a turntable?

Yes. The phono input switches between MM at 40 dB and MC at 60 dB gain, and you set the termination impedance for your cartridge using the supplied RCA plugs. In most cases you won't need an external phono preamplifier.

Is a remote control included?

No. AVM supplies the AS 2.3 app-controlled: you manage streaming, multiroom and tone via the free RC X app for iOS and Android. If you want hardware control, order the RC 3 or the RC 9 with colour display separately.

Are there matching speakers in bronze?

Yes, AVM also offers the Audition CB 2.3 bookshelf speaker as a Bronze Edition – bronze front, black cabinet. Together they make a coherent anniversary combination; which speakers suit your room sonically is something we're happy to work out together.
