The Raidho X1t is a compact 2-way bookshelf speaker that combines a ribbon tweeter with a tantalum-coated ceramic driver.

Small, but with real presence: the X1t is Raidho's answer to the question of how much genuine high-end can fit into a cabinet the size of a shoebox. The answer surprises even people who've heard a lot already. Developed and built in Denmark, landed at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil.

Why the X1t?

Two things define it. First, the legendary Raidho ribbon tweeter: a wafer-thin foil (around 11 microns, 20 milligrams), roughly fifty times lighter than a classic tweeter dome. Less mass means less self-resonance – as Raidho likes to put it, the tweeter simply leaves no fingerprint on the sound. Second, the 13 cm Ceramix driver with tantalum coating (the "t" in the name): tantalum is one of the hardest metals there is, stiffening the diaphragm and pushing resonances far upward. That keeps the low/mid range precise where others turn mushy. The bass-reflex port on the front of the cabinet also allows placement relatively close to the wall.

Openness and transparency you'd hardly expect from such a compact speaker. The X1t draws a wide, precise stage, resolves the finest detail, and stays unobtrusive throughout – no rose-tinting, no treble sparkle for its own sake. Voices stand tangibly in the room; spatial imaging is this small monitor's great strength. For its size, the bass goes surprisingly deep – though you shouldn't expect miracles of physics from a 13 cm driver.

Who is the X1t for?

Ideal for small to medium rooms (Raidho recommends up to around 25 square meters for full bass), for near-field and studio use, and for anyone who values honest transparency over effect-driven bass. Thanks to its wall-friendly placement, it also works where a large floorstander would be too much.

Straight talk: if you want to fill a huge room or feel deep bass rattling your trouser legs, this isn't the speaker for you – then it's worth looking at the X2t, the TD series, or adding a subwoofer. And the X1t isn't a party blaster but a fine-detail speaker. Pair it with an underpowered amplifier and you're giving away its potential.

The X1t proves that size and sound aren't the same thing. Once you've heard how this little Dane unfolds space and fine dynamics, you stop thinking of it as "just a bookshelf speaker."
