The Paradigm Seismic 110 is a compact, sealed active subwoofer with a cylindrical die-cast enclosure, a 25 cm high-excursion driver, and 850 watts of Class D power. It packs deep-bass performance you'd otherwise only expect from far larger boxes into an enclosure the size of a stool.

Why the Seismic 110?

The old hi-fi wisdom "there's no replacement for displacement" still holds – unless you're willing to invest enough engineering effort. That's exactly what the Seismic 110 does: instead of bragging with cabinet volume, its power comes from the technology. The cylindrical aluminum die-cast monocoque is extremely rigid, and the driver runs a split voice coil for up to 50 mm of excursion, a dual Nomex spider, and a 4.5 kg magnet structure. The result: an enormous amount of air moved per cubic centimeter of enclosure. Premium engineering instead of cardboard box.

What you'll hear

Deep bass with authority that doesn't sound like its size. The Seismic 110 reaches down to 18 Hz and, thanks to its sealed design, stays tight and precise rather than loose. The 850 watts provide reserves it deploys under control even at high levels – with soft clipping and thermal protection so nothing gets overwhelmed. For music it delivers fast, defined bass; for home cinema, the punch under the effects.

Who's the Seismic 110 for? (and who isn't it for — straight talk)

For demanding small to medium rooms where serious deep bass is called for, but the sub can't be half the size of a fridge. Straight talk: here you're paying for engineering density, not cabinet volume – if you just want "loud for little money", a bigger ported sub gets you more level per franc. The Seismic 110 is for those who want uncompromising performance on a small footprint and are willing to pay for the engineering behind it.

Our verdict

The Seismic 110 is a small powerhouse: compact, brutally robust, and yet precise – a subwoofer for anyone seeking maximum performance on a minimal footprint. Not a bargain, but every franc's worth of engineering. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, we'll tell you honestly whether the Seismic is right for your room or whether a larger enclosure makes more sense – and dial it in cleanly on site if you wish.

Frequently asked questions

How does such a small subwoofer manage 850 watts and 18 Hz?
Through engineering rather than volume. The rigid die-cast monocoque, a long-excursion driver with a powerful magnet structure, and the sealed design enable high output and deep bass in a small footprint. This construction is more elaborate than a big particleboard box – but in return the Seismic 110 plays well above its size class.

Seismic 110 or a Defiance subwoofer – which suits me better?
The Seismic 110 is the compact high-end specialist: maximum performance on a small footprint, clean and precise. The Defiance line offers more level per franc, especially the ported X models for large home cinemas. In short: Seismic for premium engineering in little space, Defiance for a lot of output at a better price. We're happy to help you choose.

What room suits the Seismic 110?
Small to medium rooms that call for deep, controlled bass. Thanks to 18 Hz extension and 850 watts, it also has enough reserves in medium living rooms for music and home cinema. In very large rooms where maximum level is the goal, a larger enclosure plays to its strengths.

Do I need room correction for the Seismic 110?
It's not necessary – it runs right away via the line input. But for that final bit of cleanliness, the room can be measured with the Perfect Bass Kit or ARC, which smooths the typical bass peaks. The accessory is sold separately; the basic controls for volume, crossover, and phase are on the unit itself.

Why buy the Paradigm Seismic 110 at HD Zürisee?
Because a premium sub deserves an honest assessment: we tell you whether the Seismic 110 suits your room or whether your money is better spent elsewhere. We also advise on placement and calibration and set everything up on site if you wish – with our own technician and the experience of a seasoned team in Wädenswil.
