The KECES Euphony is a network player with an integrated D/A converter that takes in music from the network and from external digital sources and outputs it in analogue, both balanced and unbalanced.

Why the KECES Euphony?

Because most chains have exactly this gap. A separate streamer and a separate DAC mean two boxes, two power supplies and a digital cable between them that costs something too. The Euphony packs both into one aluminium housing and adds digital inputs on top, so older sources benefit as well. Control is via app, connection either via LAN or dual-band Wi-Fi.

What you get

Access to your music, without fuss: Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect work directly, Qobuz, Deezer and TuneIn are on board, DLNA fetches files from your NAS. Over USB, it handles PCM up to 192 kHz and DSD up to DSD256. And because internet radio and local files work just as well, the device is enjoyable even without a paid subscription.

Who is the Euphony for – and who isn't it for?

Straight talk: the Euphony has a fixed output level. It's a source, not a preamp – you need an integrated amp or a preamp behind it. If you want to drive a power amp directly, the S3 or S4 is the right choice. It also has no headphone output. But if you're after exactly what it says on the tin – a clean network source with a good converter – you get a lot for the money here.

Can I connect the Euphony directly to a power amp?

No. The output level is fixed; there's no volume control. The Euphony needs an integrated amp or a preamp behind it. If you want to drive a power amp directly, the KECES S3 or the S4 are the right devices – we'll show you the difference.

Does the Euphony have a headphone output?

No, there's no headphone output. For headphones you'll need your own headphone amp, or a device that does both – the KECES S3, for example, which combines converter, preamp and headphone amp in one housing.

Do I need a streaming subscription?

No. Internet radio via TuneIn, music files from a NAS via DLNA, and the digital inputs all work without a subscription. Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify and Deezer are options, not a requirement – you decide whether and when to add them.

What do the digital inputs offer?

They turn the Euphony into a conversion hub: a CD transport, TV or games console go in via optical or coaxial, a computer via USB. All these sources then use the same converter and the same analogue outputs – one less cable's worth of chaos behind the rack.
