The Blok Stax 2G 3-Shelf is a modular HiFi rack with three levels whose shelves sit decoupled on a silicone isolation layer and which can be expanded module by module.
Here, natural ash meets silky-matte satin white – light, airy, and understated enough that the system doesn't look out of place in a living room. The series is developed and built by Blok in the UK, a brand of the Monitor Audio Group.
Why the Stax 2G 3-Shelf?
You get the base module plus two Module 170s, making three shelves with 170 mm of usable height each – enough for an integrated amplifier, a streamer, and a turntable. Assembly takes a quarter of an hour, the tool is included, and when another device joins later, you slide in another module. No new purchase, no furniture-store box with eighty-seven loose parts.
What you get
A foundation that doesn't pass vibrations on. The silicone isolation layer between the levels decouples each shelf from the one below, and the hollow side supports can be filled with sand, making them noticeably deader. Four height-adjustable feet with spikes or hard-floor pads bring the rack level on carpet as on parquet – no need for the famous folded piece of cardboard under the fourth foot.
Who is the Stax 2G 3-Shelf suitable for?
For bright, modern living rooms and systems of three to four devices where the furniture should deliberately stay quiet. Straight talk: satin white shows dust more readily than dark surfaces, and if you're stacking a large record collection, plan an LP module in from the start. As a mere shelf, the Stax 2G is overqualified – its strength is decoupling, not square footage.
Our verdict
The most unassuming of the three finishes, and that's exactly where its appeal lies: it carries the technology without asking for attention itself. The Stax 2G series won the EISA "AV Furniture 2024-2025" Award. Frequently asked questions
How big is the Blok Stax 2G 3-Shelf?
The rack measures 602 mm wide, 475 mm high, and 402 mm deep. Each level offers 480 × 379 mm of surface and 170 mm of usable height. Measure your tallest device beforehand – tube amplifiers usually need a Module 220 for this.
Does a turntable fit on the top level?
Yes, and that's the best place for it. The top level gets the least structure-borne vibration from below, and you can comfortably reach the tonearm and platter. Watch the 480 mm width and make sure the dust cover can swing freely backward when opened.
How much does a level withstand?
Up to 40 kg per level. That covers heavy integrated amplifiers, power amps, and solid turntables. Put the heaviest device at the bottom, distribute the rest evenly, and place the rack on a load-bearing, level surface – then the structure stays permanently rigid.
Can the rack be added to later?
Yes. Stax 2G is a building-block system made of a base module and levels in 120, 170, 220, plus an LP compartment. You undo the M10 fixings, insert the new module, and screw it back together. Ash Natural/Satin White is available for all module sizes, so nothing looks mismatched.
Why buy the Blok Stax 2G 3-Shelf from HD Zürisee?
Because we plan the configuration with you instead of leaving you alone with the building blocks: which module heights your devices need, whether spikes or pads belong on your floor, how the cables run cleanly. Our team in Wädenswil delivers and sets up on request.
