The Blok Stax 2G 3-Shelf is a modular HiFi rack with three levels that carries your components on decoupled shelves and can be stacked with further modules at any time.
This finish combines black-stained ash with natural walnut – a calm material mix that takes in dark electronics without the furniture taking over the room. The Stax 2G series is built by Blok in the UK, a brand of the Monitor Audio Group.
Why the Stax 2G 3-Shelf?
The 3-Shelf configuration consists of the base module and two Module 170s – three shelves for amplifier, source, and turntable. Each level is bolted together with four M10 bolts, and the tool for this is included. If your system grows, you simply insert another module in between instead of replacing the whole rack. A rack you expand instead of throwing away – that's rarer than it should be.
What you get
Above all, a calm, solid stance. Between the levels sits a silicone isolation layer that slows down structure-borne vibration before it reaches the cartridge. The side supports are hollow and can be filled with sand through lockable openings – more mass, less resonance. The four feet are height-adjustable and can be fitted with spikes or hard-floor pads, so the rack doesn't wobble even on an old, uneven parquet floor.
Who is the Stax 2G 3-Shelf suitable for?
For anyone who wants to set up a manageable chain of amplifier, source, and turntable cleanly – and cares that the furniture doesn't look like a server cabinet while doing it. Straight talk: if you need to fit six devices plus a record collection, the 4-Shelf version or additional modules serve you better. And a rack doesn't fix a difficult room – it only takes the vibrations off your gear that a living-room floor would otherwise happily pass on.
Our verdict
A piece of HiFi furniture you can put on display instead of hiding, and one that's technically capable of more than its understated looks suggest. The Stax 2G series won the EISA "AV Furniture 2024-2025" Award. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, we go through the module heights with you beforehand, so your amplifier doesn't end up fighting for millimetres.

Frequently asked questions
How big is the Blok Stax 2G 3-Shelf?
In the plywood finish, the rack measures 602 mm wide, 475 mm high, and 402 mm deep. Each of the two added levels offers 170 mm usable height and 480 × 379 mm of surface. The height-adjustable feet compensate for small unevenness as well.
How much weight does a level carry?
Each level is rated for up to 40 kg. That covers heavy integrated amplifiers, power amps, or solid turntables without issue. Put the heaviest device at the bottom, distribute the rest sensibly, and make sure the floor is level – then the structure stays permanently rigid.
Can I expand the rack later?
Yes. Stax 2G is a building-block system: you undo the M10 fixings, insert an additional Module 120, 170, 220, or LP in between, and screw it back together. That turns the 3-Shelf into a 4-Shelf without having to replace the whole piece of furniture. The modules are available in the same finish.
Do I need to fill the side supports with sand?
No, that's optional. The supports are hollow and can be filled through lockable openings, which adds mass and further dampens resonance. The rack also works perfectly well without filling – filling it is fine-tuning, not a mandatory step in assembly.
Why buy the Blok Stax 2G 3-Shelf from HD Zürisee?
Because we tell you in advance which module heights suit your devices and what your floor needs under the spikes – instead of leaving you alone with the configurator. Our specialist team in Wädenswil delivers, sets up on request, and tidies the system in properly. Call us: 044 680 22 00.
Goes well with
Your chain goes on the levels: turntables benefit most clearly from the calm stance, and integrated amplifiers and CD players suit it well too. You'll find everything about the groove under All Vinyl, and the selection under Cables & Connectors keeps things tidy behind the rack.
