The Vincent SV-737 MK is a hybrid integrated amplifier with a tube preamp and a Class A portion that combines 2 × 180 watts, a D/A converter, HDMI ARC and Bluetooth in a tubeLine chassis.
It replaces the SV-737: the warm, calm tube character stays, while the connection section has been rearranged. And the tube window in the front? It lets you watch the glow – or you dim it with the remote when the evening should stay dark.
Why the SV-737 MK?
Because it combines tube warmth and transistor power with a clean division of labour. The preamp uses two 6N1P, two 6N2P and one 85A2 as voltage reference for a high-voltage supply taken over from the SA-T7 MK preamp. The power stage is based on the SV-237 MK II, with an optimised input cascode for better transient response into complex loads. That gives 2 × 180 watts into 8 ohms and 2 × 300 watts into 4 ohms, with the first 10 watts per channel in Class A.
What you get
- Hybrid integrated amplifier: tube preamp (2× 6N1P, 2× 6N2P, 1× 85A2) and transistor power stage
- 2 × 180 watts into 8 ohms, 2 × 300 watts into 4 ohms, the first 2 × 10 watts in Class A
- Five RCA inputs, two optical and two coaxial digital inputs, HDMI ARC and Bluetooth
- Pre-out and main-in, for example for use with a home cinema processor
- Headphone output (6.3 mm) on the front, the speakers are muted when in use
- Bass and treble controls, bypassable with the TONE button
- Tube window in the front, dimmable via the remote control
- Remote control and Bluetooth antenna included
Who is the SV-737 MK for?
For anyone who wants tube character and power reserves and handles streaming through a separate source: the SV-737 MK brings the TV into your system via HDMI ARC, accepts digital sources over Toslink and coax and has a headphone output. If you know the SV-737, you'll find the familiar sound with better-arranged connections.
Honestly: the SV-737's Wi-Fi module is gone – if you want to stream from your network, you add a streamer. HDMI ARC works without CEC, and the SV-737 MK has no phono input. At 21 kilos it also needs a sturdy, well-ventilated shelf.
Our verdict
The SV-737 MK is the logical evolution of a Vincent classic: the same warm tube character, plus HDMI ARC instead of Wi-Fi and a connection section that fits neatly into stereo and home cinema systems. Which speakers suit it and how best to set it up, we're happy to clarify. Frequently asked questions
What is new on the Vincent SV-737 MK compared with the SV-737?
HDMI ARC replaces the Wi-Fi module, and a dedicated pre-out and main-in replace the former jumper links between the preamp and power stage. The power stage is based on the SV-237 MK II, and the preamp's high-voltage supply on the SA-T7 MK. The warm tube character is retained.
Can the SV-737 MK stream?
It has Bluetooth for smartphones and tablets, but no Wi-Fi or network streaming any more. Instead, the built-in D/A converter accepts digital sources through two optical, two coaxial and one HDMI ARC input, such as a network streamer, a CD player or the TV. We're happy to advise you on a suitable streamer.
Can I connect headphones to the SV-737 MK?
Yes. On the front there is a headphone output with a 6.3 mm socket for headphones from 32 to 600 ohms. As soon as you use it, the amplifier mutes the speakers. That's handy for late evenings when the neighbours would rather sleep.
Which speakers suit the SV-737 MK?
With 2 × 180 watts into 8 ohms and 2 × 300 watts into 4 ohms, it confidently drives most speakers. A single pair should be at least 4 ohms, and at least 8 ohms when running A and B at the same time. We're happy to discuss the sonic match for your room with you.
