About Us

Hi, I'm Andy.

I founded HD Zürisee in 1997 — for three pretty simple reasons: I loved the technology, I was fascinated by sales, and the curiosity about being my own boss just wouldn't let go of me. So I did what, back then, you only did with slightly shaky knees: I set up one of the very first web shops.

Today that sounds harmless. In 1997, a web shop was about as exotic as a turntable on the moon. Can you even trust the internet? Everyone was asking themselves that back then — customers and us alike. Everything was new, for both sides. We dared to do it anyway.

What I quickly noticed: pure online sales didn't make me happy. I missed the people. The face that lights up when a system plays properly for the first time. The conversation that starts with “just having a quick look” and ends two hours later on your third favourite song. So we turned the web shop into a real bricks-and-mortar store — one with a door, a listening room and a coffee machine.

We grew with you

Over the years, our customers' expectations shaped us into what we are today: a specialist store that can adapt and keep evolving. Online and in person. Hi-Fi, High End, high-quality TVs and sound tuning — all under one roof, all there to touch and hear.

Why we do this

Honestly? Because quality is simply fun. And that fun is contagious. We lovingly call it the Hi-Fi virus — once you've heard how music can really sound, you never want to go back. Passing that joy on is what drives us. Our DNA, if you like.

What you won't find with us: sales pressure, brochure babble, or the classic “get the pricier one, it's better”. If a cheaper unit suits you better, we'll tell you — even if it's the worse deal for us. In return, you get to listen at your own pace, either at our place in Wädenswil or straight at your home, where the system will end up playing anyway.

By the way: we keep it casual with “you”

Not to be cool, but because being close to people matters to us. If you'd rather keep things formal, just say so — we're happy to oblige. But honestly: talking about music that gives you goosebumps just sounds nicer when it's casual.

The team

We're small, on purpose. That way you know the people advising you — and they know your system.

  Andreas “Andy” Cramer – Owner since 1997. Sales, advice, and the enthusiasm that rarely stops on time.

  Judith Cramer – Co-owner and head of finance and bookkeeping. While I make music, she makes sure the numbers add up in the end.
• 
  Maurizio Nardiello – our technician and installer, just as at home in sales. The man who makes your cables disappear — or convinces you they actually look great. He gets systems singing — and who knows, maybe you too.

What others write about us

The trade magazine AUDIO SWISS visited us in Wädenswil for its “Swiss Top Dealer” feature. Title of the piece: “Loyal to Technics” — which fits, seeing as I was already a Technics fan as a teenager, and we've been the authorised Technics dealer for the Lake Zurich region since 2015.
