Collection: Coaxial Cables (Coax)

A coaxial cable (coax) transmits the digital S/PDIF signal electrically over a shielded 75-ohm connection between source and converter – the classic alternative to an optical Toslink cable.

At HD Zürisee you'll find coax digital cables from AudioQuest (Forest to Diamond) and ViaBlue, for connecting a CD player, transport or streamer to a DAC. Many find the electrical transmission a bit punchier and more direct in the sound than an optical connection – a difference that shows up most clearly on a resolving system, not equally on every setup. Where ground loops are an issue, Toslink remains the more hassle-free choice; for the last step in precision there's also AES/EBU cable.

Which length and which model fits your source and your DAC – we're happy to tell you directly: call, write via WhatsApp, or get advice at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil.
