The Dual Headshell S Azimuth is an offset detachable headshell in milled aluminium with a lateral azimuth clamp for Dual CS turntables from model year 2021.

Why the Headshell S?

The solid construction milled from aluminium gives the cartridge a stable base. The lateral clamp sets the azimuth and locks it, so the stylus stands upright in the groove where it belongs. The flat mounting surface suits numerous cartridges, and the standardised bayonet mount turns a change into a simple hand movement. The offset geometry is matched to the straight Dual tonearms.

What you get

You mount and adjust your cartridge once on the headshell, after which it can be swapped quickly. That way one cartridge can be ready for everyday use and another for the special records. Each time you switch to a different cartridge, you set tracking force and anti-skating again according to the manufacturer's specifications.

Who is the Headshell S for? (and who is it not for – plain talk)

For record lovers who own or want to try several cartridges and want to align them cleanly. If you are happy with the factory-fitted cartridge and never change, you don't need it. And one thing needs saying: the cartridge is not included with the headshell.

Which Dual turntables is the Headshell S intended for?

For the Dual CS models from model year 2021: CS 329, CS 418, CS 429, CS 518, CS 529, CS 618Q, CS 629Q and CS 718Q.

Does the Headshell S also fit the CS 329?

Yes. The CS 329 has the same tonearm with detachable headshell as the CS 418, CS 429 and CS 518 (effective length 221.5 mm, offset angle 25.6°, overhang 19 mm). Note: on the CS 329 the tracking force is fixed at the factory. If you fit a different cartridge, we are happy to help with the setup.

What does the azimuth clamp do?

It sets the vertical alignment of the stylus to the groove and locks it. This ensures even contact on both groove flanks and makes precise cartridge mounting easier.

Do I have to readjust anything after changing?

Yes. Each time you switch to a different cartridge, you set tracking force and anti-skating again according to the cartridge manufacturer's specifications. The azimuth is retained on the respective headshell after the one-time adjustment.
