Vestlyd is a Danish brand specialising in coaxial speakers – following the principle “Live louder”: tweeter and midrange driver sit concentrically on a single axis, so the sound reaches you time-aligned and as one piece from any point in the room, instead of from several separate drivers. At HD Zürisee we carry active and passive coaxial monitors, floorstanding speakers and a handy battery-powered speaker for on the go.

What does “coax” mean at Vestlyd?

Tweeter and midrange driver sit concentrically (coaxially) on a single axis instead of side by side. As a result, the sound reaches the listener from a single point and time-aligned, which produces a stable soundstage even away from the exact listening position.

Active or passive – what's the difference?

The active models M6C and M8C Active have a built-in power amplifier and only need a line signal, e.g. from a streamer or a turntable with a phono preamp. The passive models V12C and V15C require an external amplifier.

Do I need the matching speaker stands?

For the bookshelf speakers M6C and M8C Active, we recommend sturdy stands at ear height for the best sound. The floorstanding speakers V12C and V15C stand directly on the floor; the optional V12C/V15C Stand bases additionally provide a secure footing and optimal coupling.
