Honestly
Sangean is the honest, down-to-earth choice: good reception, robust technology, fair price. What you don't get is the refined finish and the warm, powerful sound of a design brand like Ruark – but you also pay significantly less for that. If the most beautiful object matters to you, look at Ruark; if you want a radio that simply runs reliably and lasts for years, Sangean is exactly right.
Frequently asked questions about Sangean
DAB+, FM or internet radio – what do I need?
DAB+ is the digital standard with clear reception and many stations – the first choice for most people today. FM is the proven analogue reception as a fallback. Internet radio (like on the WFT-4) brings you stations from around the world, but needs WLAN. Many Sangean models combine several of these.
Sangean or Ruark – what's the difference?
Sangean is the reliable radio specialist at a fair price. Ruark is the design brand with a more refined cabinet and warmer sound – and costs accordingly more. If reception and function matter to you, go for Sangean; if it's about looks and sound in the living space, take a look at Ruark.
Which Sangean suits the kitchen, workshop or on the go?
For kitchen and living space, the DDR-7x or the retro models are ideal. For on the go and the workshop, robust reception and battery life count. Tell us where the radio will be, and we'll recommend the right model.
Can I get good DAB+ reception with Sangean even in a difficult location?
Sangean is known for good reception, even where other devices struggle. There's never a guarantee – that depends on the transmitter network and location. In difficult spots, the right antenna orientation often already helps; we'll give you the tips you need.
