The NuPrime SiGa Power75 is a low-noise AC-to-DC power supply that feeds sensitive audio and digital devices with particularly clean 12 V and 5 V direct current.

It is the replacement for the cheap plug-in power adapter that comes with many good streamers, switches and DACs. Instead of a simple switch-mode supply, it uses a SiC/GaN design with active common-mode noise cancellation (CM-ANC) and RF shielding – efficient, compact and tuned for low noise.

Why the SiGa Power75?

Digital sources are sensitive to their power supply – a noisy supply carries interference straight into the device. This is exactly where the SiGa Power75 comes in: the SiC/GaN design works with high efficiency, the CM-ANC circuit actively cancels common-mode noise, and the RF shielding keeps high-frequency interference out. According to NuPrime, the 12 V rail has a ripple of typically below 1 mVrms (with ANC).

NuPrime puts the Pure series under the motto «Power, refined.» – the SiGa Power75 is its direct-current branch. Honestly: a better power supply only helps as much as the original supply was weak; the audible effect depends on the system.

What you get

One power supply, many connections: four 12 V barrel-connector outputs (5.5 × 2.5 mm) and two 5 V USB-A outputs, regulated, up to 75 W in total. With it you power streamers, network switches, DACs, routers and small devices that would otherwise each hang on their own run-of-the-mill adapter – one less tangle of plugs. Compact (170 × 95 × 60 mm), light (1 kg), unobtrusive.

Who is the SiGa Power75 for?

For anyone whose streamer, switch or DAC is powered by an external 12 V or 5 V plug-in adapter and who wants to swap this weakest link for something serious. An inexpensive lever before you think about costlier upgrades.

Plain speaking: The SiGa Power75 only helps devices with a matching external DC socket – so first check the voltage (12 V or 5 V), polarity and connector of your device. For components with a built-in power supply it brings nothing. The total power of all ports must not exceed 75 W. And how audible the gain is depends on how poor the original power supply was. We will check with you whether it suits your device.

Our verdict

The SiGa Power75 is a clever piece of technology: small, cool and efficient, with active noise cancellation and several outputs. We see it as an affordable entry into clean power supply – especially for streamers and switches that come with a budget power supply from the factory. Whether your device audibly benefits, we would rather tell you honestly beforehand than have you regret it afterwards.

FAQ

Which devices is the SiGa Power75 suitable for?
For audio and digital devices with an external 12 V or 5 V DC supply – typically streamers, network switches, DACs or routers. Before buying, check the voltage, polarity and connector type of your device. Components with a built-in power supply do not benefit.

What does a better power supply bring sonically?
A cleaner DC voltage carries less noise into the device. With sensitive digital sources, some listeners describe a quieter background and finer resolution. How clear the effect is depends on the device, the chain and how good or bad the original power supply was – in some systems hardly any difference is audible.

Is the SiGa Power75 a linear power supply?
No, it is a SiC/GaN design with active noise cancellation (CM-ANC), not a classic linear power supply. It works efficiently, compactly and lightly, and according to NuPrime keeps the 12 V ripple at typically below 1 mVrms.

Can I power several devices with it?
Yes: the SiGa Power75 has four 12 V barrel-connector outputs (5.5 × 2.5 mm) and two 5 V USB-A outputs. The total power of all ports must not exceed 75 W. Tell us which devices you want to run – we will check voltage, connector and power requirements with you.

Why buy the NuPrime SiGa Power75 at HD Zürisee?
Because we first check whether it fits your device at all – voltage, polarity, connector – instead of just selling you a power supply. Andy and Maurizio help with selection, and service is handled by our own technician. Call us, write to us or drop by in Wädenswil.

Goes well with

Clean power works best in the right place – here is how to continue sensibly:

  • Streaming: The classic candidate is your streamer with an external plug-in power adapter – check voltage and connector first.
  • Conversion: A DAC with an external DC socket can also benefit, provided it does not already have a built-in power supply.
  • Network: Switches with an external 12 V or 5 V power supply can be found in network accessories; as everywhere, the effect depends on the rest of the system. (The NuPrime SW-9X already comes with its power supply.)
  • Connection: Good cables for the last few metres.
  • More from the series: NuPrime
