Rega RB220 Tonearm

The Rega RB220 is the original replacement and upgrade tonearm from Rega's RB range, hand-assembled with a one-piece aluminium armtube and Rega's patented low-friction polymer bearings.

Why the RB220?

Rega builds the RB220 to exactly the same specification that's fitted at the factory on the Planar 1 and Planar 2 – a precision arm that punches well above its price class. The latest version comes with adjustable anti-skating force, which improves compatibility with a wider range of cartridges.

What you'll hear

Nothing you hear, but what you no longer hear: unnecessary bearing friction and resonances that blur the fine groove signal on cheaper tonearms. The RB220 transmits what the cartridge reads, without becoming a sonic event in itself.

Who is the RB220 for? (and who it's not for)

For owners of a Planar 1 or 2 whose original tonearm is damaged, and for anyone wanting to fit a compatible RB-mount turntable with the original Rega arm. Plain talk: if you already own a Planar 3 or higher, the RB220 would be a step backward – there, the RB330 or higher is a much better fit.
