The AudioQuest Q-2 is a ready-made pair of speaker cables (2 × 3 m) with Solid+ Concentric conductors made of Long-Grain Copper (LGC) and banana plugs fitted on both ends. Unpack, plug in, done — the unglamorous first step away from the nameless bundled wire that's been aging behind the sideboard for years.
Why the Q-2?
At its core sits a solid LGC conductor, around which eleven finer LGC strands spiral — AudioQuest calls this Solid+ Concentric. The trick: the strands keep their position relative to each other instead of constantly touching and letting go as in an ordinary stranded wire. Less strand interaction, fewer grain boundaries, less of the slightly rough hardness that budget cables tend to bring along. The Low-Inductance Twisted-Pair layout additionally keeps inductance low.
What you get
Two ready-made 3 m lengths in a flat PVC jacket that can be run under carpet edges and behind baseboards, plus SureGrip-100 banana plugs with a directly silver-plated contact surface and no nickel interlayer. No stripping, no crimping, no frayed copper strands looking for contact with each other at the worst possible moment.
Who is the Q-2 for — and who isn't it for?
Straight talk: on a high-resolution chain with demanding floorstanding speakers, the Q-2 plays below its potential — there, the Rocket series gets noticeably more out of it. Its territory is compact systems, bookshelf speakers, and any setup currently running nameless two-conductor wire. And if your speakers sit further than three meters apart, you'll need a different length — just let us know.
Our verdict
The Q-2 is the most matter-of-fact argument against bundled cables that we know: cleanly made, honestly priced, audibly calmer. Which length and plug type fit your equipment, we'll sort out in two minutes — HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, 044 680 22 00, WhatsApp 076 534 22 00 (text only, no calls), or shop@hdzuerisee.ch.

Frequently asked questions
Do I get one cable or two?
Two. The Q-2 ships as a ready-made pair — one 3 m length each for the left and right speaker. Both ends already have banana plugs fitted. You don't need to strip anything, solder anything, or buy anything extra.
What does Long-Grain Copper offer over ordinary copper?
Longer copper crystals, and therefore fewer grain boundaries. Every grain boundary is a tiny transition where the signal is minimally disturbed. The fewer of those lie along the run, the calmer and less distorted the music arrives at the speaker — audibly, above all, as less hardness.
Do the banana plugs fit my amplifier?
In the vast majority of cases, yes — banana jacks are the standard on amplifiers and speakers. There are exceptions with pure screw terminals or spade-lug connections. Tell us your amplifier and speaker model, and we'll tell you in advance whether it fits or whether a different termination makes more sense.
When is it worth switching to a Rocket cable?
As soon as your system resolves more finely than the Q-2 can show. The Rocket series steps up quietness, dynamics, and bass control, and also offers single-biwire. For entry-level chains, though, the Q-2 is honestly enough — we'd rather not sell you headroom you'll never use.
Why order the Q-2 at HD Zürisee?
Because you'll get an honest assessment from us on whether this cable actually does anything for your system. Our experienced team knows the connection situations of common amplifiers and can make up custom lengths on request. Call, WhatsApp, or email us — even for small questions.
