yamahasps5000
Yamaha SPS-5000 Speaker Stands (Pair)

The Yamaha SPS-5000 is a speaker stand designed specifically for the Yamaha NS-5000 High-End speaker.

For a speaker like the NS-5000, the right stand isn't an accessory, it's part of the design. Yamaha developed the SPS-5000 through simulation just as rigorously as the speaker itself.

Why the SPS-5000?

Four solid aluminum legs support the NS-5000, each mounted at a 42° angle to the baffle to effectively minimize reflections from the speaker. The whole thing weighs around 8 kg, giving it a vibration resistance that pushes speaker-induced vibration down to a minimum. Not a random product, but the result of extensive simulation analysis.

What you get

Exactly the right height: with spikes, the NS-5000 stands at 304 mm, so the tweeter plays at the ear height of a seated listener while minimizing floor reflections. Height adjusters compensate for uneven floors, the spikes can be swapped for rubber feet, and special screws fix the speaker firmly to the stand. All so the NS-5000 stands as if it grew there.

Who is the SPS-5000 for? (and who it isn't)

For every NS-5000 owner – there simply isn't a more sensible base. Straight talk: as a universal stand for any bookshelf speaker, the SPS-5000 is overkill and its fixings are tailored to the NS-5000. If you don't have an NS-5000, you don't need it.

Our verdict

The NS-5000 deserves this foundation – and rewards it with stable imaging and clean bass. For a speaker of this class, the right stand isn't optional, it's mandatory.

Technical data

Sales unit: 1 pair (2 stands) – the stated price is for the pair

Fits: Yamaha NS-5000

Construction: four solid aluminum legs (42° to the baffle), height adjusters, steel-cut spikes

Height with spikes: 304 mm (tweeter at ear height)

Dimensions (W×H×D): 393 × 304 × 376 mm (with spikes), 393 × 285 × 376 mm (without spikes)

Weight: 8.0 kg each

Finish: Black

Included: two stands (pair), spikes, height adjusters/spacers, mounting screws

Frequently asked questions

Is the SPS-5000 supplied as a pair?
Yes. The price is for the pair, i.e. two stands – one per speaker. That way both NS-5000s stand on an identical, precisely matched base.

Why is the SPS-5000 designed for exactly 304 mm?
So that the NS-5000's tweeter plays at the ear height of a seated listener. That's a bit higher than typical bookshelf speaker stands and also minimizes disruptive floor reflections.

Does the SPS-5000 also fit other speakers?
No, it's specifically engineered for the NS-5000 – from the height down to the screw mounting. For other speakers there are better-suited stands, and we're happy to help you choose.

Why buy the SPS-5000 at HD Zürisee?
Because we see the NS-5000 and SPS-5000 as a unit.
