yamahaas3200bl
Yamaha A-S3200 High-End Integrated Amplifier, Black

The Yamaha A-S3200 is a fully balanced High-End integrated amplifier that combines a Class-AB preamp and power amp stage in a solidly built chassis.

It's Yamaha's flagship integrated amp – built on the same principles as the legendary 5000 series, sharing its chassis construction, wiring, and the signature illuminated meters. Retro looks, modern engineering, and a weight that makes clear what you're dealing with the moment you unpack it.

Why the A-S3200?

Because no compromises were made on the fundamentals. A large 623-VA toroidal transformer, powerful smoothing capacitors, and PC-Triple-C wiring deliver energy from the wall outlet to the speakers with minimal loss. The fully balanced floating circuit produces deep black backgrounds and excellent channel separation – the music detaches itself from the speakers. And the Mechanical Ground concept bolts the transformer, capacitors, and heat sink directly to the chassis, so vibration never gets the chance to become a sound problem.

What you'll hear

100 watts per channel into 8 ohms (150 W into 4 ohms) with an assured damping factor – enough control to keep even demanding floorstanding speakers on a short leash. A fully discrete MM/MC phono stage is built in, plus balanced XLR inputs, a high-quality headphone amplifier, and classic tone controls. The sound is regarded as powerful, richly coloured, and musical – an amplifier that gives recordings substance instead of dissecting them clinically.

Who is the A-S3200 for? (and who it isn't – straight talk)

For anyone looking for the ultimate integrated amp and who appreciates the feel of real knobs and pointers. Straight talk: it deliberately can't stream or do Bluetooth – the A-S3200 is a purely analog/line amplifier. If you want network audio, you put a streamer in front of it (we're happy to help you choose one). And at just under 25 kg, it needs sturdy furniture. If you can live with that, you get an amplifier for the next decade.

Our verdict

A modern classic: the A-S3200 combines the build and sound culture of Yamaha's great era with today's precision. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, we'll listen together with you to find which speakers show off its strengths best – system matching is half the job with an amplifier of this class.

Technical data

Type: fully balanced stereo integrated amplifier, Class AB

Rated power: 100 W + 100 W (8 Ω), 150 W + 150 W (4 Ω)

Dynamic power: 120/150/200/300 W (8/6/4/2 Ω)

Damping factor: ≥ 250 (1 kHz, 8 Ω)

Frequency response: 5 Hz–100 kHz (+0/−3 dB)

Phono: discrete MM/MC stage

Inputs: 2× balanced (XLR), line (RCA), phono; headphone output

Power transformer: 623 VA toroidal

Dimensions (W×H×D): 435 × 180 × 464 mm

Weight: 24.7 kg

Finish: Black

Warranty: 5 years (2+3 via Yamaha product registration)

Included: amplifier, remote control, power cable, manual

Frequently asked questions
<details>
Does the A-S3200 have a phono input?

Yes.
