viablue-nf-s6-air-xlr-kabel
ViaBlue NF-S6 AIR XLR Cable, Balanced

The ViaBlue NF-S6 AIR XLR cable is the balanced reference of the NF range: an XLR connection with air as the dielectric, coupling two components with stable levels and virtually loss-free.

Instead of plastic, there's air between the conductors on the NF-S6 AIR – via an Airpipe system with 24+1 air chambers, the best-sounding dielectric there is. Add to that 2× 6 finely silver-plated OFC copper strands, sixfold shielding and the solid T8 XL XLR connectors. Ready-made, built uncompromisingly for sound.

Why the NF-S6 AIR XLR?

If you're running a balanced system at reference level, the cable is no longer a side issue. With its air dielectric and sixfold shielding, the NF-S6 AIR brings exactly the calm and resolution that make a high-resolution system audible – even over longer runs between pre-amp and power amp.

What you'll hear

Maximum resolution, a deep black background and dynamics that open up without pushing. Details emerge effortlessly, the soundstage becomes large and stable – this is the top league of the NF range.

Who is the NF-S6 AIR XLR suitable for?

For high-quality systems with balanced XLR connections on a pre-/power amp, DAC or active monitors, where the last bit counts. Plain talk: if you only have Cinch connections, go for the Cinch/RCA version – XLR only helps if both devices support it. And if you're running an entry-level system, an NF-S1 serves you more honestly; the NF-S6 AIR only shows its strengths on a correspondingly refined system.

Our verdict

The NF-S6 AIR is ViaBlue's uncompromising XLR reference – air dielectric, sixfold shielded, for systems that can deliver on it. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil we'll help you find the right length and honestly clarify whether your setup really brings out this level.

Technical data

Type: balanced interconnect cable (XLR)

Dielectric: air (Airpipe system, 24+1 airpipes)

Inner conductor: 2× 6 finely silver-plated OFC copper strands

Shielding: sixfold (3 alu-PET foil shields + 3 OFC braided shields)

Connector: ViaBlue T8 XLR XL (male/female), 24kt gold-plated contacts

Colours: Cobra (70 & 150 cm) or Black (70 cm)

Lengths: 70, 150 cm

Scope of delivery: 1 pair of XLR cables, ready-made

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the air dielectric do for the NF-S6 AIR?
Air is the best-sounding dielectric – it slows down and colours the signal the least. ViaBlue routes the conductors through an Airpipe system with 24+1 air chambers, so they're almost entirely surrounded by air. This brings more resolution and a calmer background.

What does XLR offer over Cinch?
XLR transmits in a balanced way: interference that affects both conductors equally cancels out at the input. This pays off especially with longer runs or in electrically noisy environments. The prerequisite is balanced inputs and outputs on both devices.

What length should I choose?
As short as possible, as long as necessary. Measure the actual distance between the devices and allow a bit of extra for strain relief. The NF-S6 AIR is available here in 70 and 150 cm – for longer distances, we're happy to advise you.

Is Cobra or Black better?
That's purely aesthetic. The braided sleeve differs only in colour; construction and sound are identical. Black is available for the NF-S6 AIR XLR in 70 cm, Cobra in both lengths.

Why buy the NF-S6 AIR XLR from HD Zürisee?
Because we know from years of experience when a reference cable really pays off and when an NF-S1 is enough. We give you honest advice on length, configuration and system – by phone, WhatsApp or email, instead of simply selling you the most expensive cable.

Pairs well with

Check out our XLR cables, Cinch cables / RCA and matching power cables.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0932/3262/8048/files/viablue-nf-s6-air-xlr-kabel-cobra-paaransicht.png?v=1787061793
