viablue-nf-s5-phono-tonarmkabel
ViaBlue NF-S5 Phono & Tonearm Cable

ViaBlue NF-S5 Phono & Tonearm Cable

Made specifically for the turntable: the NF-S5 is available as a classic Cinch-to-Cinch phono cable or with a solid 5-pin DIN connector (SME) to Cinch – the clean, shielded connection from the tonearm to the phono stage. Ready-made with T8 technology, so your vinyl arrives without hum or losses.

Choose the version and length to match your turntable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which version do I need – DIN or Cinch?

That depends on the tonearm. If your turntable has a five-pin DIN socket on the tonearm base, go for the 5-pin DIN to Cinch version. If two Cinch sockets already come out of the turntable, Cinch to Cinch is the right choice. If in doubt, send us a photo of the connection and we'll sort it out.

What lengths is the NF-S5 available in?

In 100, 150 and 200 centimetres. Phono cables are deliberately kept short, because the signal from the cartridge is very weak and every extra metre offers more surface area for interference. Choose the shortest length that still lets you position turntable and phono stage comfortably.

How do I avoid hum?

First, check the grounding. Most turntables need a ground wire to the phono stage in addition to the signal connection – if it's missing or loose, you'll get hum. Also keep power supplies and mains cables away from the tonearm cable. The NF-S5's continuous shielding helps, but it doesn't replace proper grounding.

Can I also use the NF-S5 as a normal Cinch cable?

Technically yes, in the Cinch version. But it's built for the phono path, meaning the very low signal levels between tonearm and phono stage. For ordinary line-level connections between a CD player, DAC and amplifier, the NF-A7 from the same ViaBlue family is the more suitable and straightforward choice.

Why buy the ViaBlue NF-S5 from HD Zürisee?

Because turntable wiring is more than just plugging in connectors: grounding, the connection type on the tonearm, matching with the phono stage. HD Zürisee in Wädenswil has experience with analogue turntables going back to the nineties, and our technician helps if there's hum. Send us a photo of your tonearm connection.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0932/3262/8048/files/viablue-nf-s5-phono-tonarmkabel-cinch-cobra-produktansicht.jpg?v=1787061268
