rel-planar-pl-2-subwoofer-schwarz-hochglanz-stuck
REL Planar PL-2 Subwoofer, Gloss Black (Each)

The REL Planar PL-2 is an extremely flat subwoofer from the Planar Series, built for wall or under-furniture mounting in rooms where a classic floorstanding subwoofer simply doesn't fit.

Why the REL Planar PL-2?

At just around 18.9 cm deep, the Planar PL-2 uses REL's Boundary-Effect-Coupling: the wall deliberately becomes part of the acoustic system, allowing surprisingly deep bass despite the slim design. The driver pair (active 8" FlatPiston front + passive 10" FibreAlloy rear) is driven by a pure Class D amplifier.

What you hear

Despite its flat design, the Planar PL-2 delivers noticeable, well-contoured deep bass that comes remarkably close to classic floorstanding subwoofers. Equally suited to music and home cinema, especially in places where a normal subwoofer simply couldn't be placed.

Who is the REL Planar PL-2 suited for?

The Planar PL-2 is the right choice when wall or furniture mounting is the only option for reasons of space or looks. Honestly: if you can place a subwoofer freely in the room, a classic T or S model often gets you a bit more depth for comparable money – the Planar Series trades a small compromise for its extreme flatness.

Our verdict

The REL Planar PL-2 solves a real space problem without making major compromises on bass. A clever solution for rooms that simply won't allow a classic subwoofer.

Technical data

Design: active 8" FlatPiston front + passive 10" FibreAlloy rear

Amplifier: pure Class D amplifier

Frequency response: from approx. 24 Hz

Dimensions: 48 × 65 × 18.9 cm (H×W×D)

Weight: approx. 20.25 kg

Inputs: Neutrik Speakon (high-level), RCA (line-level + LFE)

Wireless: REL Airship Direct built in (factory pre-paired)

Finish: Gloss Black

Frequently asked questions

How is the REL Planar PL-2 mounted?
The subwoofer is designed for wall mounting or placement under furniture.
