rega-planar-10-se-2-swiss-edition
Rega Planar 10 SE 2 – Swiss Edition

The Rega Planar 10 SE 2 Swiss Edition is the top configuration of Rega's reference analog chain: the Planar 10 turntable with the flagship Aphelion 2 cartridge and the AOS phono stage, put together exclusively for Switzerland as a finished, matched set.

Why the Planar 10 SE 2?

It takes Rega's reference turntable – ultra-lightweight Tancast 8 plinth, diamond-turned ceramic platter, hand-built RB3000 tonearm, external P10 power supply with DSP – and crowns it with the Aphelion 2, Rega's best MC cartridge. The AOS phono stage is designed exactly for systems like this. Analog playback doesn't get more uncompromising than this at Rega.

What you'll hear

The maximum in resolution and musicality. The Aphelion 2 pulls micro-detail out of the groove that you'd simply miss on other chains, while the Planar 10 and the P10 power supply create a silence out of which every nuance emerges cleanly. Soundstage, dynamics and texture are at reference level – this is where the road ends.

Who is the Planar 10 SE 2 for? (and who it isn't – straight talk)

For analog enthusiasts who want the very best Rega offers as a chain – and who can hear the value of a flagship cartridge. Straight talk: the Aphelion 2 accounts for the lion's share of the price difference to the SE 1; if you're not consciously after that last step, you're better served with the SE 1. The cartridge is fitted and aligned by us.

Our verdict

The Planar 10 SE 2 is the end of the road for Rega analog – fully combined, perfectly matched, sonically at maximum. At HD Zürisee in Wädenswil, we set up the chain, align the Aphelion 2 and tune everything to your system.

Technical data

Turntable: Rega Planar 10 with hand-built RB3000 tonearm

Plinth: ultra-lightweight Tancast 8 construction with HPL laminate

Platter: diamond-turned ceramic platter

Power supply: P10 PSU with DSP control (external)

Drive belt: Reference EBLT

Cartridge: Rega Aphelion 2 (MC, flagship model) – fitted and aligned by us

Phono stage: Rega AOS high-end MC phono stage

Turntable dimensions (W × H × D, with lid): 420 × 115 × 350 mm

P10 power supply dimensions (W × H × D): 218 × 80 × 320 mm

Weight: 4.7 kg (turntable) + 3 kg (P10 power supply)

Scope of delivery: Planar 10 with RB3000 tonearm, P10 power supply, Reference EBLT belt, dust cover, Rega Aphelion 2 and Rega AOS phono stage (cartridge not factory-fitted)

Frequently asked questions

Is the Aphelion 2 cartridge fitted at the factory?

No. The Aphelion 2 is included unmounted. We professionally fit it onto the RB3000 tonearm at HD Zürisee and align tracking force, azimuth and anti-skate down to the millimeter – with a cartridge in this class, that precision is exactly what decides the sound.

What's the difference between the SE 2 and the SE 1?

The cartridge. Both use the Planar 10 and the AOS phono stage; the SE 2 comes with the Aphelion 2, Rega's flagship model, the SE 1 with the Apheta 3. The SE 2 resolves even finer detail and is the uncompromising top variant – at the price to match.

Do I also need an amplifier?

Yes. Included are the turntable, cartridge and phono stage. The AOS outputs a line-level signal that fits any amplifier with a high-level input. Amplifier and speakers are separate – we'll put together the right chain at this level for you.

Why buy the Rega Planar 10 SE 2 at HD Zürisee?

Because an Aphelion 2 is only as good as its alignment. We fit and align the cartridge, tune the reference chain, and handle the warranty cleanly as an authorized dealer.
