The sonic character is typically MC: more dynamics and fine detail than MM, but it needs a suitable MC-capable phono input.

Technical data

Type: MC (Moving Coil)

Stylus: elliptical diamond

Cantilever: aluminium

Nominal output voltage: 350 µV

Recommended tracking force: 1.75–2.0 g

Recommended input impedance: 100 Ohm, 1000 pF

Recommended for: Planar 3, Planar 6, Planar 8

What's included: 1 cartridge incl. mounting screws

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a special phono preamp for the Ania?

Yes, the Ania is an MC cartridge and needs an MC-capable phono input, such as the Rega Fono MC MK4 or Aos. A plain MM input isn't enough.

Is the Ania audibly better than an Nd7?

Different, not necessarily better: the Ania brings the typical MC character with more dynamics, the Nd7 stays easier to handle and needs no MC phono input.
