nadc700v2argonaudioforus55black
NAD C700 V2 + Argon Forus 55 HiFi Set, Black (Set)

The NAD C700 V2 + Argon Forus 55 HiFi Set is a complete stereo system made up of the all-in-one streaming integrated amplifier NAD C700 V2 and a pair of Argon Audio Forus 55 floorstanding speakers – amplifier, streamer, DAC and speakers, matched to each other from the factory.

We at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil like this set because it makes so little fuss: the compact C700 V2 with its high-resolution colour display replaces the whole component tower, and the slim Forus 55 in black stand calmly in the room, restrained in true Scandinavian style. Together they form a full-grown system – no cable clutter, no frills.

Why this set works so well together

A set is only as good as how well it's matched. The C700 V2 delivers 2 × 80 watts from its clean HybridDigital UcD power stage (briefly up to 100 watts at 8 ohms, 130 watts at 4 ohms) – enough to confidently drive the good-natured, easy-to-drive Forus 55 in normal to larger living rooms. Thanks to its large cabinet, the floorstander brings the low-end weight and composure that a bookshelf speaker lacks. In short: a compact head, full-grown sound.

The best part: BluOS streaming is already on board the C700 V2. You stream in High-Res directly from the device – no separate streamer, no extra box.

What you'll hear

A relaxed, balanced performance. The Forus 55 plays calmly and versatilely, with more air in the low end than you'd expect at this price. The C700 V2 keeps the tone neutral and arranges the soundstage cleanly. Via HDMI eARC, the set becomes your TV's sound hub, the MM phono input brings the turntable into play without detours – and the high-resolution colour display shows you the cover art of your music along the way.

Who is this set made for – and who isn't it made for?

Plain talk: Ideal if you want an elegant, complete system in a small space – streaming, TV sound and vinyl with full-grown floorstanders, without a component tower. Anyone wanting to fill a very large room with power-hungry high-end speakers will find the 2 × 80 watts of the C700 V2 underpowered – that's where the C399 or the M Series play in a different league. But for most living rooms, this set is exactly right.

Our verdict

An honest complete system for anyone who likes things tidy: all-in-one streaming with HDMI eARC and phono, plus floorstanding speakers with a fair price-performance ratio. Not sure whether the Forus 55 will suit your room, or whether bookshelf speakers would be better? That's exactly what we're here for – tell us about your room, and we'll figure it out together.

Technical data

NAD C700 V2 (streaming integrated amplifier)

Device type: all-in-one streaming integrated amplifier with DAC

Amplifier technology: HybridDigital UcD

Continuous output power: 2 × 80 watts at 8 and 4 ohms

Peak power: 100 watts (8 ohms) / 130 watts (4 ohms)

Streaming platform: BluOS (multiroom, MQA, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal, Qobuz and more)

Digital inputs: 1× HDMI eARC, 1× optical, 1× coaxial

Analogue inputs: 2× line level (RCA), 1× MM phono

Outputs: pre-out, subwoofer out, headphone

Wireless: Bluetooth aptX HD (two-way)

Display: high-resolution colour display (cover art)

Dimensions W×H×D: 21.8 × 9.6 × 26.6 cm

Weight: 5.1 kg

Argon Audio Forus 55 (pair, black)

Design: passive floorstanding speaker (Forus series)

Connection: single-wire, gold-plated

Cabinet: MDF, magnetic front grille

Finish: black (matte)

Included per speaker: magnetic front grille, spikes / rubber feet

Dimensions H×W×D: 86 × 17 × 26.6 cm

Weight: 12.2 kg per unit

What's included

1× NAD C700 V2 streaming integrated amplifier

1× pair of Argon Audio Forus 55 floorstanding speakers (black)

1× remote control for NAD C700 V2

2× magnetic front grilles, spikes / rubber feet

Power cable, Wi-Fi antennas

User manuals (NAD & Argon)

Frequently asked questions

Do I need extra devices to stream with this set?

No. The NAD C700 V2 already has BluOS streaming built in. Internet radio, network files and services like Qobuz, Tidal or Spotify run directly on the device – a subscription is optional, not mandatory. Turntable, TV and Bluetooth also work perfectly fine without streaming.

Does the power of the NAD C700 V2 suit the Argon Forus 55?

Yes. The 2 × 80 watts of the C700 V2 confidently drive the good-natured, easy-to-drive Forus 55 in normal to larger living rooms. For very large rooms or uncompromising listening levels, a more powerful amplifier would make sense – but for most living rooms, this combination is perfectly matched.

Can I connect a turntable and TV to this set?

Yes. The C700 V2 comes with an MM phono input for the turntable and HDMI eARC for the TV. You control the TV sound conveniently with the TV remote. There are also optical and coaxial digital inputs as well as two analogue line-level inputs.

Is this a complete HiFi system?

Yes. Amplifier, streamer, DAC and floorstanding speakers are all included and matched to each other. All you need is speaker cable and, if you like, a source such as a turntable.
