moonbrm1northcollection
MOON BRM-1 Smart Remote Control

The MOON BRM-1 is a rechargeable wireless remote control for MOON components that works via the MOONLink protocol and is operated via a graphic OLED display, touch controls and a rotary dial – including feedback on volume and input.

Why the MOON BRM-1?

Because a good system deserves good control, too. Instead of a simple row of buttons, you get a bidirectional remote here: the OLED display shows you the current level and selected source right in your hand, the precise rotary dial adjusts volume with a fine touch, and the touch surface handles the rest. Via MOONLink it communicates swiftly with compatible MOON devices such as the 681 Network Player or a MOON preamplifier.

What it can do

Over radio (Bluetooth) you control your system even when the electronics disappear into a cabinet or rack – no line of sight required. The rechargeable Li-ion battery charges via the modern USB-C port, so you never have to hunt for coin cells again. And because the display reports back what the device is actually doing, you never have to guess whether the volume is at 30 or 50.

Who is the BRM-1 for – and who isn't it for?

Ideal for anyone with a MOONLink-capable MOON system who wants a high-quality, tidy control centre instead of a drawer full of plastic remotes.

Straight talk: if you just want a simple replacement remote for turning the volume up and down, you're paying here for a display, battery and wireless tech you won't push to its limits. And without a compatible MOON device with MOONLink, the BRM-1 makes no sense – it isn't a universal remote.

Our verdict

A thoughtful, solidly built control centre that matches the ambition of a MOON system: display, dial and wireless instead of cheap button-pressing. We at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil will tell you honestly whether your MOON components support the BRM-1 – and set it up for you on request.

Technical data

Type: rechargeable wireless remote control for MOON components

Compatibility: MOON North Collection (641, 681, 761, 791, 861, 891) and Compass 491

Display: backlit graphic OLED, feedback for volume and input

Controls: touch surface and precise rotary dial

Communication: Bluetooth (wireless), MOONLink protocol

Battery: rechargeable Li-ion battery, approx. 25 h runtime, approx. 30 m range

Charging: USB-C (charging time approx. 2 h)

Origin: Made in Canada

Dimensions (W × H × D): 111 × 79 × 64 mm

Weight: 272 g

Warranty (MOON Switzerland): 5 years

Included in delivery: BRM-1 remote control, USB charging cable

Frequently asked questions

Which devices does the MOON BRM-1 work with?
With MOON components that support MOONLink – such as the 681 Network Player/DAC or MOON preamplifiers.
