moon-ace-all-in-one-black
MOON Ace All-in-One Streaming Amplifier, Black

The MOON Ace is an all-in-one streaming amplifier that combines streamer, DAC, MM phono stage, headphone amplifier and a 50-watt integrated amplifier in a single enclosure.

You connect a pair of speakers, connect to the network – and the system is ready. And yet the Ace still sounds like MOON: fast, clean, with the brand's typical transparency.

Why the MOON Ace?

Because it condenses a complete high-end chain into a single device – while keeping the fast, transparent MOON signature. MiND 2 brings modern streaming, the DAC converts up to DSD256, and the built-in MM phono stage brings the turntable on board too. All matched, all from a single source.

What's inside

MiND 2 streaming: Qobuz, Tidal, Spotify Connect, Deezer, HighResAudio, Tune-In, Roon Ready, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth aptX

DAC up to 32-bit / 384 kHz, DSD256 and MQA

MM phono stage for your turntable

Discrete headphone amplifier with 6.3 mm jack on the front

Home theatre bypass, OLED display, SimLink, RS-232, 12 V trigger

Inputs: 1× USB, 2× TOSLink, 2× SPDIF, 1× MM phono, 3× RCA, 1× mini-jack; 1× RCA pre-out

What you hear

A surprisingly mature sound for such a compact device: clear, precise highs, a clean midrange and bass that's entirely sufficient for normal living rooms. The Ace never sounds strained – it plays music calmly and properly.

Straight talk: who it's for – and who it isn't

With 2× 50 watts at 8 ohms, the Ace is made for normal living rooms and efficient speakers (such as the MOON Voice 22). Anyone wanting to really drive large, power-hungry floorstanding speakers loud in a big room is better off with separate components. For everyone else, the Ace is the most elegant way to condense a fully-grown high-end system into a single device.

Our verdict

The Ace is the most elegant way to condense a full-fledged high-end system into a single device – ideal if you love music but don't want a tower of gear. In black it looks particularly understated. We at HD Zürisee in Wädenswil tell you honestly whether its 50 watts suit your speakers and your room.

What the trade press says: "MOON's all-in-one system offers gripping sound and plenty of flexibility … here MOON has a real ace up its sleeve." – hifitest 4/2020.

Technical data

Power: 2× 50 W at 8 ohms

DAC: 32-bit / 384 kHz, DSD256, MQA

Streaming: MiND 2, Roon Ready, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth aptX

Phono: built-in MM phono stage

Headphones: discrete amplifier, 6.3 mm jack

Display: OLED

Dimensions (W × H × D): 429 × 89 × 366 mm

Weight: 11 kg

Finish: Black

Warranty (MOON Switzerland): 5 years

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any other devices with the MOON Ace?

No. Apart from speakers and an internet connection, you need nothing else – streamer, DAC, phono stage, headphone amplifier and power amplifier are all built in.

Can I connect a turntable?

Yes, the Ace has a built-in MM phono stage for cartridges with a moving-magnet system.

Which speakers suit the MOON Ace?

Efficient bookshelf and compact floorstanding speakers.
