gradoextensioncablexseries
Grado Headphone Extension Cable 6.3 mm X-Series

The Grado X-Series headphone extension cable extends your Grado cable by 4.5 metres – with a 6.3 mm jack plug (1/4 inch) to 6.3 mm socket, so you can stay comfortably seated even further away from your amplifier or headphone amp.

It's made from the same super-annealed copper as the X-Series headphone cables and protected by a braided sleeve.

Why this cable?

Grado uses the same wire for the extension as in the headphones themselves – four conductors, super-annealed copper, braided sleeve. Grado guarantees that sound quality doesn't suffer with Grado headphones. For even more reach, up to three cables can be connected in series.

What you get

Four and a half metres of extra freedom of movement – enough to get from the armchair to the system without the headphones pulling on the cable. The braided sleeve makes the cable robust enough for daily coiling and uncoiling.

Who is it suited for?

For anyone with Grado headphones with a 6.3 mm jack connection – so on a classic hi-fi amplifier or headphone amp. Plain talk: for the 3.5 mm connection on your smartphone or laptop, you'll want the mini version.

Our verdict

An unspectacular but sensible accessory: more freedom of movement without any loss of sound. Exactly what you'd expect from Grado.

Technical data

Type: Headphone extension cable

Connectors: 6.3 mm jack plug (1/4 inch) to 6.3 mm socket

Length: 4.5 m (15 ft)

Construction: 4 conductors, super-annealed copper

Sleeve: Braided

Combinable: Up to 3 cables in series

Series: Grado X-Series

What's included: 1 extension cable, 4.5 m

Frequently asked questions

Does the cable fit all Grado headphones?

It fits Grado headphones with a 6.3 mm jack – the standard plug on most Grado over-ear models. Grado also explicitly allows connecting up to three cables in series.
